I heard about this on the news at noon. Then happen to see a Celebrex commercial.

You know how at the end of Rx commercials they list all the possible side effects? (Often the side effects sound worse than the reason for taking the med.)

Anyway, I did not hear anything at the end of the commercial regarding heart or cardiac related problems as a possibility. Only kidney/liver cautions and stomach irritation warnings.

I would think if they knew of possible heart problems they would have mentioned it with the other possible side effects. Maybe not?

In the news story I saw, they said that another study apparently didn't show the effects, so they haven't actually pulled Celebrex off the market yet.

I'm sure the commercial was taped before the studies, since thats very recent...and they're not going to risk being sued and losing money the way Merck did until they know for sure.

Though personally, since it's all the same type of drug, I'm sure the first study that "suggested" heart risks is going to be the end result of their further studies.
