Thought for the day....... "The mind is there to explain our behavior to us. It says, "Don't worry, there's a reason why you're doing this." But it doesn't care what the reason is. It will make up a reason if it has to. The mind protects us by fulfilling our deep need to believe that we are logical beings. We can thank it for doing it's job. But we don't have to believe it." Thought for the day....... "Organismic awareness is what we - on the Ego Level - ordinarily, but clumsily, refer to as seeing, touching, tasting, smelling and hearing. But in its very purest form, this "sensual awareness" is non-symbolic, non-conceptual, momentary consciousness. Organismic awareness is awareness of the Present only - you can't taste the past, smell the past, see the past, touch the past, or hear the past. Neither can you taste, smell, see, touch or hear the future. In other words, organismic consciousness is properly timeless, and being timeless, it is essentially spaceless. Just as organismic awareness knows no past or future, it knows no inside or outside, no self or other. Thus pure organismic consciousness participates fully in the non-dual awareness called Absolute Subjectivity." Ken Wilber, Spectrum of Consciousness

lightfoot, thank you for being faithful to post this thread. I come from time to time and am always blessed.
I especially liked that quote by Carly Simon about birds. That is my experience with birds singing. Everyday I have a symphony of God's sounds happening right from my front porch...
God's creation calms me.
Blessings to you!

Thought for the day....... "A human being is a part of the whole, called by us Universe, a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings as something separated from the rest--a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole nature in its beauty." Max Frisch
