Hi, I am wondering what to do about this? I have had heart palpitations/skipped beats and arrhythmias once in a while in the last 10 yrs.
But now I have had this ongoing for about 1 month or more. I don't know if it is Heart Block or what. Prior ECGs, echocardiogram and Holter monitor, didn't show much to the ducks.
It is getting worse almost daily now with the abx(started Doxy and Rafampicin 10 days ago). It feels different sometimes, I miss every 5th to 10th heart beat and the next regular beat is super strong.
I can feel the missed beat in my wrist, (checking pulse like) and I do get chest pains with it sometimes.
The last three days I have been getting paler, colder and weaker. And I think going to the clinic is not usefull, just frustrating.
I went to emerge with this and the Dr. sent me home saying he didn't believe it was life threatening, but he also coudn't tell me what it was.
Has anyone here expirienced this and can anyone tell me if it is just arrythmias or potentially dangerous Heart Block?
I am tired of worrying if, when I go to sleep, I will wake up again.
Thank you in advance for any ideas. SR

SR, have you checked Treepatrol or Tincup's newbie links ... hopefully, someone has addressed this issue in their important links to print & check off as you read them.
Best wishes. I don't have this problem. Betty G.

Hi Sweetrhapsody - I am sorry you are experiencing this...it is scary! I will tell you that I started having skipped beats and palps. a few months before I finally got my diagnosis. The cardiologist that ran an EKG and sonogram couldn't detect any abnormalities but I sure knew something was really wrong.
I have Lyme, Babesia, and Ehrlichia. Once I got the Babesia under control with treatment the heart palps, heart thumping, and skipped beats have gone away.
Just thought I would mention it. Hope you feel better soon!

Hey SweetRhapsody - Were you tested for tick borne coinfections like Babesia, Ehrlichia, Bartonella, and Mycoplasms. It is so important - especially the Babesia since it must be treated first many believe and with an antimalarial for antibiotics to be effective for the rest of it and lyme. If I am telling you something you already knew just ignore me Posts: 655 | From NC, Exit 88 on the Deer SuperHighway | Registered: Dec 2004

Before abx resolved my 2nd degree heart block, I had the feeling I was going to pass out. I think the skipped beats are a separate thing. I still have skipped beats and consider it a part of living with Lyme.
