Hi all, I am not new to Lyme, but I am new to Ketek. Has anyone else been on this new antibiotic? I am beginning my fourth week and what I find more than anything is how depressed I have been. It's the first time my spirits have been continually low since I was diagnosed 2.5 years ago. I know everyone has a different reaction and a different case...I was just curious if and how anyone had dealt with a major case of the blues.

Ashley,
There's a thread in medical on Ketek updates from people. You may want to take a look. A lot of us have increased fatigue on Ketek. Maybe there is a connection with the fatigue and your blues?
I've actually felt more upbeat on Ketek, because I've been feeling much better. But we are all different.
Just a suggestion. Make sure people around you, and your doctor, know of the change of mood. Maybe even keep a journal of your mood that you allow somebody close to you to look at. That way any dangerous change of mood can be caught.

My LLMD actually forewarned me that I could get depressed or irritable on ketek. The depression wasn't too bad, but I definitely got 'medically angry' for a couple of weeks!

My LLMD is considering trying this drug for me, but he has not come to a decision yet.

I just started my second week on Ketek and I get headaches a lot. I also get really bad mood swings. The other night I went out with my friends and I got a dirty look from someone who I don't like and I just got really mad and almost started a fight which basically was over nothing. I get very angry and irritable very quickly.
