I'm not sure if I'm happy or sad, but I got my results for the tick test from IGenex today.

The tick was positive for Lyme and Babesia.

I feel vindicated that my suspicion was correct. Luckily, I've had some improvement by adjusting my diet (no sugar/low-carb) and have been taking a variety of supplements.

I also have an appointment with an LLMD in 1.5 weeks.

Time to go to battle.

Well, welcome to our world, Brian! yep, many of us felt elation mixed with anger, fear, sadness, everything all rolled together into one big mess!

Glad at least now you know what to do and can head toward recovery.

Brian, welcome to our lyme world of 24/7 educational/support!

If you haven't been to TREEPATROL's newbie links combined with tincupt's ... please find. Print it and mark off after you read the sections as there are months of reading there.

Print off the 38 pages of Dr. Barrascano's treatment and re-reread it over & over to become more familiar with what we have.

You are lucky you are able to see a LLMD so soon. Most of us have had 1-3 month wait.

Do your homework on learning on what you will be taking & why. Best wishes Brian on your future treatment.

The tick bit me in Menard, Texas - slightly West-North-West of Austin.

I was randomly talking with a doctor and a nurse today (ok, so I stubbed my pinky toe and fractured it )- Anyway, the doctor didn't know that Lyme's came down this far, but the nurse recently had heard a local veterinarian talking about a rise in tick-borne diseases in dogs in Texas.

Well, you can tell them for me that I've had it at least 46 yrs and believe I was Lymed near Somerville, TX....90 miles NW of Houston. So, it's definitely been around TX a long time. We just have alot of people [ducks] with their heads in the sand.
