Hey there Aaron..Happy Birthday to you!!! Hope you get some nice goodies...I know you are excited about it..

My daughter turns 18 on Feb 2..She is a Groundhog..Nickname for someone born on Groundhog's Day..You were almost born on groundhog's day. ...Maybe you could be an honorary Groundhog..They celebrate, party(the adults that is) and they try to decide if Spring will be early or if the winter weather will last longer..

It is really opposite to what you think..If it is a cloudy day and the groundhog doesn't see his shadow, he isn't scared and doesnt' go back to hibernate more...But if it is sunny and he sees his shadow, he will run back into his hole and it will be six more weeks of winter..

While this is a little bit pretend, it lets adults have an excuse to be kids again..We have often gone to one of the Pennsylvania celebrations..There is one in Lancaster County..Men only are allowed to join the lodge, they wear tophats and tails,(special coats) and they plan skits and a big celebration..Even the TV crews attend..It isn't as big as the one done further upstate in Pauxitanny, Pa, but a lot of fun..My daughter has been interviewed twice.

When she was feeling better, she never missed it..

Ok, Aaron, here goes, I dub you an honarary grounghog friend..Enjoy...PS. They do not make safe pets..and probably carry lyme disease but you can enjoy them from a distance..Happy Day!!!!!!!!!!lymemomtooo
