Hi Carol,
My kids, Derek and Mikayla, think you are the coolest Green Santa, and you are one of their LymeNet Angels...
So I wanted to let them know about your husband passing away, and they wanted me to tell you that they are very sorry.
Derek also wanted me to tell you that God is a loving God and that he will watch over your husband, just like he is watching over his puppy Kody.
The three of us sat down and said a prayer for your husband. And a prayer that God will give you comfort and strength. And Mikayla asked God to hold your hand when you are feeling sad, so you will know he cares.
Derek and Mikayla made you a card tonight, and I am going to mail it tomorrow. I wish we could do more..
Please know you are forever in our thoughts and prayers!

cbb,
I just checked in here after a while away and saw your sad news. I'm so sorry.
Ya know, you were one of the folks who helped me get started at Lymenet, and I'll always have a warm place in my heart for you.
I just read your post, about what your grandson said... you're so lucky to have a little guy like that to remind you about the sunshine!

I'm so sorry I didn't see your post sooner. Finding the right words at your desperate time of need ...... Please try not to dwell too much on your husband's death but remember all the good times and precious memories you had together. Even with the good memories, you will cry, grieve, and get very angry ...... such a hard process you have ahead of you. But someday down the road these memories will help you smile or even laugh out loud.
Your husband is now your special angel watching over you constantly. Do you feel his presence ..... if not, you soon will.
Right now I am sending you all of my prayers and good thoughts to help you through this rough time. And please, remember to take very good care of YOU, OK?
Much love, Deb

Carol, I've been away from LymeNet for awhile and my daughter, lookin4answers, sent me this post.
I am so sorry for your loss. What a tragedy this is.
I know it's early in your grieving process, and yes, it is a process. Thank God that you have all the support you've been given.
But, when all the doors close and all the visitors are gone, you'll need someone special or something special to make it through. I didn't even know that there are actual stages of the grieving process and every great loss will go through these stages. I soon found out these things when my late husband died in 1989 at the ripe old age of 40.
I found great comfort in knowing many people have gone through this process before me and they ``made'' it through. It can and many times be a very long battle to a seemingly normal life again. But, you are very strong and you, too, shall be able to travel the road of grief and may even become stronger through the process.
One other thing that was of great help to me and I can only relay to you what I've been through, is to get a good book on the grieving process. There are not a lot of them ``out there'', but one of them that comes to mind is Dr. Joyce Brother's book on loss and grieving that she wrote after loosing her husband. I got her book in 1990 and am not sure if it is in print now or not, but, I'm sure other's are just as good.
Getting a book about your grieving will allow you to understand just what is happening to you and that you are not only not alone, but, that you are normal. Don't skip any of the steps in the grieving process...it's something everyone who loosing someone close will have to go through. It's a long row to how...I'll not kid you.
In thinking of you and your loss, I would like to share a Verse with you...James 4:7-10.
