i just had a really bad experience today with my regular doctor, and am so shaken. he prescribed me some medication which i found out (via internet) reacts badly with another med he has me on. I also found out it is a med i would be really allergic to which he should know). i called him to inquire and he freaked out on me...told me i was being irrational and then started in on me about my llmd...i hung up. It is so hard to be called names for being responsible. I would have been in a lot of trouble if i took that med. On top of lyme i was in a car accident and so have a broken arm and was at the hospital all morning ..which he knew.
obviously i won't go back to him sometimes dr's just suck....I would love to know other's coping techniques

Here ya' go, click on this link. It's called the "Alligator Pit". It's where lymenet posters have posted their personal horror stories of duck visits, and trying to get treatment for this disease. After reading this, you'll feel positively giddy about your experience. Feel free to add your story as well. http://flash.lymenet.org/ubb/Forum3/HTML/003909.html
As an aside, in trying to find answers for my son's illness, we visited duck after duck, with no answers at all. I was getting downright hostile by the end of this journey.
I told one duck, if it didn't include writing a prescription so you'd get a kick-back, or cutting someone open to really rack up the bonus points, you guys were completely clueless.
He was pretty mad but decided not to toss me out of his office, probably because I'm 6'2 195. He did refuse to shake my hand when I left though. LOL [ I was less than devastated]
Rememeber, if you have a bad experience with a duck, just tell them..............if stupidity was asphalt, you'd be Route 66 !

Joop,
Here's a thought -- don't get upset, get even!
Report his sorry @$$ to your local medical licensing board. Boy will he HATE the nastygram they send him regarding prescribing medicine to which you could be allergic.... and possibly they might slap his wrist for going off on a patient in that manner.
Of course, that would be the best-case scenario. Likely, your efforts would yield somewhat less satisfaction, but we need to go on record with these things so they're less likely to happen again to us or someone else.
I'm really sorry you had to endure this and hope you get the treatment you need soon.

Don't waste another minute thinking about this creep! Good thing you knew enough to check that script. I firmly believe that as consumers WE have to be in control of our health care these days.
