NOTICE - Oklahomans from around the state have gathered to provide education, public awareness, and patient support for those suffering from a bacterial infection called ``Lyme Disease''. They've formed the Lyme Disease Support Group of Oklahoma (LDSG) as an informal group led by volunteers for the purpose of eliminating the isolation felt by those affected by Lyme Disease and other tick-borne disorders including STARI (a Lyme-like disease), helping its members to learn to cope, empowering members with support and information, and assisting family and friends of patients. LDSG normally holds meetings on the 3rd Saturday of the month between 11:30am-1:30pm, Admission is free and open to the public but space is limited. For more information, email contact: Janet Segraves LDSG: Lyme Disease Support Group of Oklahoma [email protected] * PO Box 6845, Edmond, OK 73083

Don't see your group in the support groups listing on this website. Suggest you contact the webmaster and get listed, since your notice on a forum is going to get lost as more people post and it drops to the back pages.

Thanks Lou. Just sent the Webmaster a note. I had tried to access the Support Group site earlier, and was having some trouble. Tried again and it worked! Posts: 142 | From Flyover Country | Registered: Aug 2004

Hello!! IOU, thank you for sending this link!! NOTIME2WORK, thank you for posting it! I know there have to be others from OK with lyme or the complete symptoms like I have, and have had. I got my bites camping and canoeing on the Illinois River by Taleguah. OK~~ I'm an idiot, I put clothes on a tree branch to dry~~ later was covered with hundreds of all sizes and colors. Not sure we got them all, I really don't remember, but sure got sick as a dog 3 days later. No rash then 2 years later the "weirdness" started and hasn't stopped yet. I'm hoping to get the blood tests in a couple more weeks, no insurance~~ Thank you for being here!! yes, we have lyme in Oklahoma!

Welcome to the Lyme club! The support group has had 2 meetings -- I was only able to make the last one. The next one is scheduled for April 16, I believe, and will be in Norman.
I noticed you don't have an email posted, but feel free to email me at notime2work*at*cox.net if you want.

Hi, I'm not from Okla.; however, my house is less than 15 min. away from the red river, in TX. I drive to Altus, OK frequently. I live in Vernon TX, actually north of there. I've known that I've had lyme for over a year now, closer to year and a half. My lyme has recenlty relapsed and I'm going tomorrow to find out results on two PCR tests, urine and blood. If I can be of help or join you let me know. Actually, I'll be in OKC Thurs.- Sat. am. this week for a conference on Music Therapy.. I'm glad this organization is forming.. Melinda
