hi Everybody

I've got a very important neurology appt coming up with an MC here in New Zealand with the hope that he may be open to discuss the true possibilities of what is causing my weird health issues.

Obviously Lyme is looking to be a high contender (or candida/co-infections) and I would really like suggestions on what I should arm myself for the appointment.

Please be aware that Lyme is not in New Zealand and if I had it I would have contracted it while in the US some years ago. Hence very few of our MDs here know anymore about it than what is printed in a medical dictionary!

I was thinking of taking the CDC symptom list and things like that....you all have such a great library of information that I have read and its awesome but I do not want to flood the MD with too much info.

Any suggestions on useful documents/reports would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks

Libby

Thanks for the link

My appt has been bought forward to thursday so I'm getting really nervous.

Can anyone suggest a careful plan of attack to get my doctor to even consider lyme?

Unfortunately i suspect he'll just fob me off with Reynauds syndrome like the rest have....I just need a way of convincing him to investigate!

thanks

libby

go to www.ilads.org and print out their evidence-based guidelines.

Stress that you traveled to the US

Do you remember a bulls eye rash-maybe if you try harder you'll remember

ask for a Lyme Western Blot-get a copy of it - any one of the following Lyme specific bands usually indicates Lyme-18, 23, 31, 34, 37, 39, 83, 93

Ask for a trial of doxycycline-response to treatment can aid diagnosis

Try to make doctor look smart

I'd skip the CDC info

What's a MC?
