I just happened to watch Ch. 5 news at 5:30 and they had what appears to be a follow-up story to the coverage of the Ipswich hearing a few weeks ago. (I never saw that piece.) It seemed to me--through my tears...tears of frustration and tears of profound relief that I was hearing similar stories on a television newscast--that this was good coverage.

And the reporter said that after they aired the piece on Ipswich, they received dozens of emails from people telling similar stories. Good for us for writing!

There will be continuing coverage tomorrow night, also at 5:30, I think.

Julie

I forgot to post the link to the print version. They did have video coverage of the Ipswich hearing and an interview of a teenage girl who used to dance with the Boston Ballet and is now barely able to walk. Very powerful.

Please email the station and encourage them to keep doing these stories!! I did last time and will follow up again this time.

Where does one send an email with their story?

I caught the story, too. I think it was fate because I was watching something else which went on commercial break. So I started flipping around, happened to stop on channel 5, and about 30 seconds later they started this story! I was amazed at my timing! They did a pretty good job of looking at the controversy in the short time the story lasted for. I was glad something positive came out of all the e-mails! I didn't e-mail my story, but now I might (if I remember). And I can't wait to see the continuation tomorrow! (Hope I remember that!)

A friend just emailed me to let me know about the piece and said it is to be continued today @ 5:30.

I missed the original, but went to thebostonchannel.com and was able to see the write up in the health section.

It looks as if we just click on "contact the station" at the very top of the screen, we can leave a message, so that is what I intend to do. The more of us, the better!

What I did note especially is that they said they received dozens of emails from around the STATE (presumably Massachusetts) and I think if they could receive emails from all over the COUNTRY it would be even more powerful.

Hopefully, those who live with Lyme outside of New England will look up the Boston site and send in comments so they can see how far reaching this is.

I saw the second part of the story today and taped it, too (guess I was actually thinking today ). I also sent an e-mail to them this afternoon (before the second part) and received a personal e-mail back thanking me for writing to them and directing me to watch the second part of it this afternoon. Nice to know we're making our voices heard...at least a little!
