I've always been very active/athletic...well up until 4 years ago when the search for what the +++** was wrong with me began. The point for the above info is I'm perplexed about all these spider like viens near the surface of the skin. On the front and back of my thighs as well as on my hips. At times parts of them almost look like bruises and feel that way as well. Also some of them are in the areas where I have experience a lot of muscle twitching. Lyme linked?

To newbie Cher, you will have much better luck on this board if you show specifics on your TOPIC line,

example, "spider vein problems, need help".

Then you've got folks attention & they'll click on yours.

We've got to pick & chose on our limited time here for the 40-50 daily posts...ok.

Good luck.

When I first became suddenly ill, around 1985 I had something like broken capillary veins appear on my abdomen, among many other problems. Doctors were no help so I turned into a "health freak". I improved almost to normal but never 100%. But it's back big time now.

You aren't alone with this. Lyme and coinfections can affect the vascular system. Also, some people have blood that thickens from antibiotics. For me, it results in a read lacey pattern on my skin. I can't remember the medical term right now.

It may be related. My doctor has me take a blood thinner, just twice a week, for that to prevent clotting.
