For the last 4 days I have felt awful! It started on day nine of abx treatment. In the last 4 nights I have gotten tice, 5 hours sleep and twice, 7 hours. I think this is due to extream leg pain. Because of this I quit Elavil, why screw up my heart if it aint working. I have taken oxycodine, from wife, to sleep and managed seven hours with it.

The only new symptom I have is feeling like I am going to get sick. All other sympyoms are much worse. Burning, night sweats, coldness, muscle and joint pain, dizziness, cognitive, fatigue, it is all worse especially burning. About 4 months ago I was treated for fibrmyalgia with tramadol, tizidine and gabapentin on day 21 I ran out of tramadol and felt just like I do now. I felt that way for 3 days until I got prescription taken care of and everything was good till the next day, I had some sort of reaction that caused me to throw up and be veeery dizzy. So I quit it and took the pain(like todays pain) for 6 days.

Does this sound like a herx or could I be having some sort of reaction or maybe this will be how I feel from know on. I hope this is not the new me!

Also, is it common for abx to make your bowels thin? I do take probiotics and milk thistel.

it sounds like ytou really need to call your doctor , but it does sound like a severe herx

some antibiotics will give you loose stools but if its really runny it could suggest an adverse reaction to the meds
how much and when do you take your probiotics . you should take them two hours on either side of your meds and take at least 20 billion units of acidolphylus

the milk thistle might also be what is causing the loose stools . its possible that milk thistle is too potent for you. try not taking it for a couple days and see if the stools clear up. there are other herbal liver cleansers

I am not having loose stools. They are thin, like smaller around than a hot dog. Other than that I have only had diarrhea twice in 14 days of abx. I am taking mepron, clindomycin and zithromax. What relly bothers me is not sleeping, pain, burning and cold sweats.

Calling my doc is the first thing I thought of but I am on a budget and it is long distance.

Even with the expense, you need to call the doc and find out what they say. Can you e-mail them? can you call at night and leave a message and hope they get back to you?

Below are some threads I have been gathering about mepron/zith herxes and bad herxes in general. It may help you.

The stool thing could be swollen intestines...like from colitis. Do you have pain in intestines?

Keep track of your pain and especially fevers and headaches and any rashes. These last three are the things that may need immediate care even if not from LLMD.

Not knowing about whether it is a herx or something worse I think is the WORST part about the treatment. I can NEVER tell! It is worse than the pain and the symptoms if you ask me!

Good luck to you, keep us posted, and maybe post on the medical questions to get more replies.
