We have been waiting for months to figure out what is wrong with our daughter. We finally had her properly tested for lyme about 4 weeks ago.

The clinic we are going to wrote us a letter explaining that her results are back, but we will have to wait until her next appt. (July 14th!) to get them because of the complexity of the tests. GRRRRRR!

Okay, I understand these are complex, as they put it, but really! They are the ones that made us make the appt. for so far out to make sure the results were back!

When the appt. desk said they didn't have an earlier appt. than July 14th, I told her that was just asking to much for us to wait another month.

She said I understand and I said, I am sorry, but no you don't unless you have been through it. (She was trying to be nice, I know.)

She turned me over to the triage nurse and I left a message telling her that I know it is our right to have a copy of the results faxed to us. (I told her I would sign a release.)

I haven't heard anything yet, but hopefully they will call back today.

I knew that many of you could help me interpret my daughter's results. I also remember Western Blot interpreting tips being put up on the med. board recently.

Well, sorry, I had to vent. I am sure that others here have been through similar experiences and could groan with me.

I am grateful for a safe place to belly-ache!

Thanks!

You could ask them to put you on the cancellation list.

That's an idea, brainless!

I would call them again and ask for the tests to be faxed to you. It's your right!

Hey, thanks for the suggestions. I have since had them mailed to me. The results will arrive tomorrow or Tuesday.

I thank you for the Western Blot explination. I know that anything I don't understand, I will come here for the answers.

Get this, the records person wouldn't fax the results because of the HEPA laws! I have been faxing info. and other docs have been faxing them records/tests for my daughter to them.

I just couldn't understand their lazy attitude towards helping me. I told them that I would come get them on Friday and she refused, saying that she had already put the record away.

I said aren't you going to have to get it out again this afternoon, if you are putting a copy of it in tomorrow morning's mail? She sat silent.

I said to her, well, although I don't understand why, you obviously don't want me to have these this weekend. Just promise me I'll get them no later than Tuesday. She said she would.

It is so frustrating dealing with people that have no idea what this is like! UGH...

By the way, I am concerned to put us on a cancellation list, because we are going on vacation soon and I don't want them to get frustrated with us.

I just felt it was best to take our daughter on vacation now, in case she has to go on IV abx later this summer.

Thanks!
