I have been having trouble getting lots of water down me lately.
So, I thought I would start a post on the subject.
(Who knows what makes me tick! Strange subject I know)
Yesterday, I finally got 6 bottles of Dasani down at 16.9 fl oz.
I like green tea but seem to prefer Arizona's Greet Tea which gets costly.
I have tried making my own pitcher of green tea but it just sat there. I drank one glass and thought it was not very good. Not good enough to continue.
I also have tried making pitchers of other teas with the same results.
Any suggestions on this. It certainly would be a lot less expensive than purchasing bottled water, etc.
How are you all doing with getting water down in this hot weather?

We buy distilled water by the gallon. That's not alot cheaper than by the bottle, but it helps some.
If you're drinking green tea, be careful of the caffeine content. They do have decaffeinated green tea.
Caffeine is dehydrating, so it is counter-productive to drinking water.
You can add lemon to water if you don't have an acid problem. I found that adding the lemon was making my acid reflux worse. It even was making me hoarse.
So....that's all the help I can offer!

I drink a gallon to gallon & half everyday. I keep a quart size water bottle at my side all day long. If I go anywhere my water goes with me. It's become a habit.
I bought a PUR water filter for my kitchen sink to help remove at least some of the bad guys in water. I use no ice. Cold water is not as easily absorbed by the body the way it needs to be for our sick bodies.
Distilled water is the BEST when you are toxic. It is great for carrying toxins from the body. When I'm feeling toxic, it's distilled only for about 2 weeks, then back to filtered tap water.
In the last 2 yrs I've lost the 30 lbs that I gained 6 yrs ago when I first became ill. IMO, it's the water helping remove toxins.

Tea,did someone say tea? Oh boy,I just made my son a big pitcher of Carolina SWEET tea.Not good for us though,too much sugar,you could use the stevia?
I drink a little,he has the rest.
Seriously,Kam have you ever tried the Cool Brew Iced Teas by Celestial Seasonings.
LemonIce is really good as well as Raspberry. Drop the bags in cold water,wait a few and there ya have it.Put some fresh mint in with it and you have a cool summer day.

Oooh, that cool brew iced tea sounds really good. I'll have to look for it when I go to the store next (if I remember ).
I HAVE to get enough liquids in me because I have an autonomic nervous system condition that's a lot worse if I get even a little bit dehydrated. I drink about 32 oz. of gatorade a day (I know, bad for the sugar, but I really do have to get the electrolytes and sodium in) and then drink water or diet iced tea the rest of the time (sometimes diet soda, too, although not nearly as much as I used to).
I'm also a bit of a weird case because I also do daily IV hydration with a liter of saline infused over 8-10 hours (either during the day or overnight). This is for the autonomic nervous system condition (neurocardiogenic syncope - NCS). So, I'm able to stay pretty well hydrated with all of those things!
I'd say tap water is probably not the best thing to drink because it's more likely to have things you don't want ot be drinking. I'd say buy a gallon of spring water (or distilled if you have a little extra money), keep it in the fridge if you like the water cold, and you can re-fill a smaller water bottle throughout the day if you prefer to have a portable bottle instead of a glass. Adding lemon or lime is a good way to make it a little more interesting and actually helps make your body more alkaline (I know, it's really weird, but apparently citrus is on the alkaline side).
I enjoy drinking decaf. sun tea. Our fridge has a filter so I am able to use water from the fridge water discpenser. It saves money and the aggravation of buying bottled water. I prefer using the decaf. red rose tea bags. However, any brand or flavor should be fine.
I fill up a glass container with about six cups of water. I then tie together five tea bags and drop it into the glass jar. I allow the tea strings to hang outside jar lid to preven the tea bags from falling to the bottom and having to retrieve them. Let the brew rest on the counter for the day. By the end of the day the tea is done.
I make enough to last two days. Thus on the day that I am about to run out, I make another batch. I just store it in the fridge.
I do not sweeten the entire container of sun tea. When I pour a glassful, I sweeten it with a sugar substitute and squeeze fresh lemon juice into the glass.
I drink a lot of plain water also because I realize that tea can stain the teeth. However, a couple glasses a day does not seem to be a problem for me.

It helps me to always have a bottle (of water) everywhere I go.
Then, whenever I take a sip, I try to make it more of a gulp or two rather than just a sip. When I make a point to take several gulps whenever I reach for the bottle, I seem to get more water down during the day.
Also, for me it is easier to gulp water when it is room temperature. Ice water feels great on hot days. But for hydration, I seem to get more in me at room temp.

Only a bunch of Lymies could make a whole thread about water!
So...........let me jump right in (the water)
I like my spring water at room temp with some lemon juice. I fill 3 bottles (24 oz) in the morning and then try and finish them each day.
If you want to kick the Gatorade habit try Propel fitness water. It has electrolytes, BUT also artificial sweetener. Tastes good, lots of flavors.
Green tea- I was bruising easily so I wanted a good source of vit k to replace that which my now absent normal gut flora would have made for me. So I googled it and green tea was very high in vit k.
I see lots of people here use it too- is it also good for detox?

I am so glad yuou posted this. Drinking enough water has always been a strugle for me. I have to really concentrate to get more than one qt down. Getting 2 down is an accomplishment.
When I drink more water seems to be the times I have added a quarter tsp pf Celtic sea salt in my water. Makes it saline like the IVs and it is tastes more spicy. I first read about this in the Water Cure information. http://www.watercure.com/
When you drink tea, whether it is caffeinated or not, you have to drink that nuch more water, b/c it dehydrates. Also, Arizona Green Tea has a huge amount of sugar in it. I think besides stimulating yeast, it makes water that much more boring.

There are some good suggestions here. When the processing part of the brain is working better I will go back to them and give them a try.
The city is turning the water off here today from 8 am to noon. The city water here is not fit to drink. They keep trying to bring it up to code but have yet to succeed.
Not sure why I mentioned this.
I have lots of lemons and lime in my frig. I purchased them to put in my filtered water.
It works short term for me. I hadn't thought about just squeezing the juice into the water. That is worth trying.
I hope to try some of the tea ideas too. I know that I can make a pitcher of tea that is drinkable. Can't believe I have yet to accomplish this. Your directions will help. Lyme Brain ya know.
