I've had a computer meltdown - the old Sony Vaio piece of @#$% got on its last leg and I convinced hubby that we needed to spend money out the @$$ so I could lie in bed and type on the computer all day.
So here I am! Only problem -- I feel like I've returned to school and all my old friends have graduated or something.
I don't recognize most of the names over in Medical.
So are some of you people NEWBIES or is my mind so scrambled at this point I just don't recognize people?
I'm scared. Is this the twilight zone?
Stop by & introduce/re-introduce yourself.
I need to be comforted.
Thanks & Blessings,

Hey Dr WA-
Do you remember me? I remember you. You missed a lot of troll action and reaction. Hope things settle down some soon.
Lots of new folks needing help and some pretending to need help. It's sometimes hard to tell the difference. So watch your a**, but then again it's already wise.
Some veterns have had name changes and some have taken a respite. I hope they rejoin us soon.
Welcome back and make good use of your new computer.
Of course I remember you. How are you feeling these days?
Now didn't you get part of your guts removed recently? So how's that working for ya?
Yep - I'm planning on checking in here a little more often - now that I have a computer that doesn't have to literally be iced down so it doesn't overheat & shut itself off!
This summer has been keeping me busy, sick & miserable (more so than normal), and even a bit depressed. I actually don't blame the depression on the summer - but rather on recent events.
That's why I need some @#$% cheering up. So I thought I'd drop by the message board where other miserable (& sometimes paranoid people) drop by --- to see if I can find someone --ANYONE - even a @#$% troll to cheer my miserable @$$ UP!!
This particular tactic on getting cheered up by miserable sick lymie people shows just how demented I've become. It must show how sad I must be to try to get some happiness rubbed off on me from the ill!
Anyway -- good to 'see' you Tutu! Know any good jokes?

Hi, Wise I have been over in Medical and rarely over here general (by the way Janet is right it has turned into a "General Hospital" of sorts).
Lots of heated opins, instead of the nurturing environment that drew me to it back in May when my daughter was starting her visits to the LLNP.
I remember you and your witty comments. I am not that memorable as I have only been here for a few months. Since you were gone my daughter did get diagnosed and started treatment. We are finally getting somewhere.
Glad you are back. If you will read some of the past couple of week's posts you will see who has left us for a while. I don't even fully understand it all. I must be slow on the uptake, 'cause unlike you I have been around lately.
So don't feel bad if you don't get it either!
By the way, I am just a mother that came here for information and encouragement. I just don't get why anyone that didn't themselves have lyme or have a loved one with it would even care to be here.
I would have better things to do if my life had not been so effected (or should we say infected?) by my daughter's lyme.
Again glad to see someone familiar. Lots of longtimers have been turned off by these recent turn of events. Hang in with us, okay? I still have a long time to go until my daughter gets completely well.
We need advice that we can trust. I should mention that quite a few have not turned away and I commend them for not turning away from us at a time of adversity. I won't start naming names or I will leave someone out and hurt feelings, but thanks guys!
Enjoy your new toy. Sounds like you got the spiffy laptop kind. I look forward to more witty help from Dr. Wisea$$.

OMG---I AM FREAKIN PSYCHIC! (or psycho)
I swear I came to the general board just now simply to post a note that said "where's wisebutt?" and there you are! I am really freaked out. I swear when I herx/flare I get psychic. (or psycho)
I am too sick today to read all of your and everybody else's posts. I will read another day, but glad you are back.
You probably don't know me, I just registered this past June. ( one of those dreaded newbies! ha-ha-ha) But welcome back anyhow! I was just recently dx and I have been infected since may of '04. I know you asked Lymetoo for a joke, but here go's
THE GOOD NAPKINS...ahhh..the joys of having girls...
My mother taught me to read when I was four years old (her first mistake)...
One day, I was in the bathroom and noticed one of the cabinet doors was ajar. I read the box in the cabinet. I then asked my mother why she was keeping 'napkins' in the bathroom. Didn't they belong in the kitchen? Not wanting to burden me with unnecessary facts, she told me that those were for "special occasions" (her second mistake)...
Now, fast forward a few months...It's Thanksgiving Day, and my folks are leaving to pick up my uncle and his wife for dinner. Mom had assignments for all of us while they were gone. Mine was to set the table.
When they returned, my uncle came in first and immediately burst into laughter.
Next, in came his wife who gasped, then began giggling. Next, in came my father, who roared with laughter. Then in came Mom, who almost died of embarrassment when she saw each place setting on the table with a "special occasion" napkin at each plate, with the fork carefully arranged on top. I had even tucked the little tail in so they didn't hang off the edge! My mother asked me why I used these and, of course,my response sent the other adults into further fits of laughter.
"But, Mom, you SAID they were for special occasions!!!"
Have a FABULOUS day ladies, -Kimmi

From what little I've read in Medical - I kinda feel sorry for some of the newbies that stumbled on to this site - because some of them are probably just freaked out about all the insanity that has gone unchecked!
What's happened to the warm, fuzzy Lymenet?
I guess I'm kinda glad I wasn't in the middle of some of the geniune BS around here lately.
Hey Trails - next time you're herxing and feeling psychic - or psycho - could you close your eyes and 'read' what the next Texas Lotto winning numbers are? Email to: [email protected]
Thanks hun!

I needed a good laugh today. I shall repeat that one often. Did that really happen to you?
Welcome to Lymenet, by the way. Sorry you have the need to be here - and please don't be scared by some of the lunacy from time to time.....or even all the time.
Lymenet is generally a very caring, supportive place - minus the occasional idiot. NOTICE I did NOT use any names because I'm just that @#$% nice!!!!!
Blessings,

Dr. WA,
I remember you, too.
I don't know what is happening here other than everytime I've stopped by over the last few months, there seems to be a war of words (yes, words, not worlds) going on.
Very sad.
Sorry to hear you're having a rough time right now. Hey, it could be worse, you could be having a 100+ degree heat wave like us Callifornians.
I actually scalded my hand today when I turned on the cold tap water.

No it didn't! a friend of mine sent that to me when I was having a pretty rough day. I love it though.
Thank you for the welcome! yeah, LOTS of drama lately. but, I don't think I'll be going to another forum. I know who I can trust here, there's AT LEAST a handleful I'm really really sure of. or IS there?!? just kidding!

Well, since you insisted ... this was sent to me today:
I hate people who forward too many warnings as much as anyone, but this one is important! Send this warning to everyone on your e-mail list!
If someone comes to your front door saying they are conducting a survey on deer ticks and asks you to take your clothes off and dance around to shake off the ticks, do not do it!
IT IS A SCAM; they only want to see you naked.
I wish I'd gotten this yesterday. I feel so stupid!

Hi Dr. W! Some of us have been sticking around trying to answer some newbie questions.
And, if you want some cheering up, I may be off abx in September! That cheered me up quite a bit.
Kimmi - I have a faint memory of walking up to my step mother in a restaurant (I seem to think at Disney World) asking why you had to pay for napkins in the bathroom.

Thank you all for your replies - and I'm so glad to be back!
And YES I do remember you & have missed you all -- your encouragement, your insight, your humor -- your support.
I realize this place has been kind of crazy lately -- maybe it's the summer heat?
As for blog updates -- I did FINALLY update it again today. For those of you that read it for the humor - I must warn you that it is not infused with much humor today.
I'm actually experiencing what I call 'a dark night of the soul' right now ...along with all the regular Lyme crap - and I used my blog - my writing - as a way to deal with it.
Anyway - thanks again for stopping by. My plans are to stick around awhile...hopefully I won't burn this computer up anytime soon!
Blessings,

wisebutt,
You still on mepron? You know it does make some people totally insane depressed-suicidal. Be careful. And maybe look it up in old posts. many have had to stop due to depression.
Yep - still taking the liquid gold puke maker -- but it's not making me quite as nauseous as it used to.
My doc says I have a rather large babs load and has me taking ONLY up to 3 DROPS max a day. And I stay on the 3 drops a day until it starts catching up with me & I start herxing a lot.
At that point, I may take a little 'vacation' for a couple of days so my body can detox -- and then start back up again with either 1 drop or 2 drops - and work slowly back up to that 3rd drop and then start that whole process over again.
So far - Mepron hasn't really caused any psychiatric problems -- at least not any that have gotten my attention or hubby's.
My family would certainly tell me if I was insane --- don't you think?
Well, OK....then YOU people would tell me...right?
I honestly don't know how people take actual TEASPOONS of the stuff - and wonder if the psychiatric problems could be caused by the fact they are having too fast of a die-off. What do you think?
Blessings,

Well, I don't really recognize your name, but I've been gone for quite a while too. I just started dropping by again the other day. So . . . welcome back!!! Maybe we can figure out who some of these people are together!
Oh and I've had to take teaspoons of mepron. There's really just something wrong with swallowing a teaspoon of something that looks like it could paint your kitchen!!!

Well I dont know- could be the die off, but it is somewhere in "the literature" that it causes depression and should not be used with suicidal people, etc. So I wasnt really talking INSANE, just being over the top- What i meant was DEPRESSED which is what you DID say you were. So just wanna throw that into the soup of "I-wonder-what-is causing-what."

Well -- good to meet some of you real oldies, and some of you newbies; as well as to see all of you oldies who are GOODIES!
Trails -- I see where we've miscommunicated, and realize it's MY fault.
The mepron is not causing my depressive state - or the 'dark night of the soul' which I referred to. I'm struggling now as I just had a dear friend die of cancer; and I'm also dealing with a young relative of mine who is experiencing the brutal after-effects of being sexually assaulted. She's eleven years old.
So -- I'm just feeling a little overwhelmed right now. I didn't say that before because I didn't want to freak people out by coming back to the board & dumping that out there. But since the Mepron was mentioned -- I didn't want people to think that was causing me to be depressed, altho it definitely can cause it.
And by the way -- I throw the word "insane" around a lot...maybe because of the family I come from -- I don't know.
Just so you know -- I'm hanging in there - but would appreciate prayers.
Thanks.
Blessings,

Howdy Doc WA, Been away for 10 days and am just catching up. This place can seem like the Twilight Zone but rest assured some of the 'oldies' are still here.
I was in Florida and proud to say that I walked thru EPCOT this year in 90 degree plus weather on my own two feet - last year I rode in a wheelchair!
There must be somethin' to this long term abx 'theory'.... cootiegirl

Hey Girl!
All hell has apparently broken loose around here.
I don't frequent Lymenet as much anymore - I'll shoot you an email and we will get caught up w/each other. Wondered what happened to you...
Welcome back! It seems like forever, but you and some others assisted me over last summer and into this year.
My treatment (9th-month)for babs is going well now that I'm doing a combo of abx.
There are a lot of different people here, and I too am trying to take some breaks. It's not easy and I'm getting more energy that I can use for good purpose.
