A friend in Florida is desperate for an attorney who is Lyme Literate to advise them
or give referral for an attorney they can work with.

They are having legal problems involving property they own in rural Georgia.

She & her husband are seriously ill with late stage chronic Lyme.
Severe cognitive damage makes it impossible for them to make responsible decisions at this time.

If anyone knows a Lyme Literate Attorney in any state, please e-mail me the contact info.
If the attorney is unable to work with them, she's hoping (s)he would be able to refer them to an attorney in Florida, Georgia or South Carolina.

To postpone the case going to court, they have to prove they are incapable of making legal decisions.
They need an attorney who understands cognitive damage from Lyme disease.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

I emailed you the number of a good lawyer in Knoxville--he might know someone in Georgia, or Florida--University of Tennessee, Knoxville is one of the best Law Schools in the Country--and he graduated from there--so maybe he knows people from further south.

I GOT IT!!!

I called a federal Magistrate whois a friend and he said there are two options:

1. Call the local County Clerk and ask them who is a good realistate lawyer in the area.

2. The other suggestion is to call all the BIG realistate companies in the area and ask who there lawyer is--they only use the best.

Hope that helps!

I would get in contact with an elder care attorney, you won't find anyone more qualified to forestall a real estate proceeding due to congnitive difficulties.

Want to thank each of you for such great suggestions.
That's why I came to LymeNet with the problem.

My friend's computer is out so I'll get this info to her ASAP.

Thanks again for your support, concern, & brilliant ideas.
