The last issue of Lyme Times has a 7 page article on disability claims. Looks good to me, but I have not been in this situation so didn't personally use it.

Can google Lyme Times and order this issue if you are interested.

Merrie, I was NOT involved in LTD, but 5 years with SS disability insurance finally approved 7-1-05.

Disinissues -- take it 1 STEP at a time. Look only at the LTD things; a little bit at a time to get you oriented.

When you receive the disinissues Q/A sent directly to your private in-box, see who posts about the LTD, and mail them PRIVATELY since their email shows up. Perhaps they can tell/show you where to start. good luck.

am going thru this right now too. overwhelming. no advice except wade thru all that info that bettyg sent out to me in a post a while back, i think from disinissues.

I may not go thru with it all. too much negative energy. maybe focus my energy on getting well and trying to work at crappy jobs when i feel up to it. Already fighting like mad with the insurance to pay for so much of my medical bills that they are denying, that trying for LTD seems impossible.

Maybe we should start a thread for us LTDers?

Much luck to you and rest and wellness,
Trails

Don't know if you have this -- I used the forms listed here and it helped a great deal with my appeal. http://flash.lymenet.org/ubb/Forum1/HTML/030280.html

It's very disheartening to go through the LTD process, but remember that they are counting on making it so unpleasant that you give up. It's in the way they figure their costs -- so many people give up at the first refusal, so many at the second, regardless of the merits of their case.
