My son suffers the same problem up too many hours and not asleep long enough.. I have to find the melatonin.. that used to do the trick .. packed in a box somewhere... well depending on how old she is.. since I just returned from a long leave... if older than 6 I would give it a try..or Have you given this a try? I use ZZZZZZ therapy healing gardens puts it out buy it at WalMart... about 7 a bottle.. spray on pillow and lights off and usually helps... other than that I have scripts for when that doesn't work... just a suggestion... I should use them myself come to think of it, my sleeping is so erratic lately... best to you and your daughter.. LindaD

She has gotton down by one am the last 2 nights, which at this point is quite tolerable. Looking good for tonight. Hope I didn't jinx it.
We had this flu bug and I think that the increased inactivity killed the sleep. I got her out for a walk Monday, and tonight I drug her to grocery store and video store to tire her out. I think that this helps.
I am feeling better myself from the bug, so I have the some energy to get her moving.
Thanks again for the encouragement. It means a lot.

Hey Suz,
Prayers for you and Amanda, besides it'll give me more to pray for while I'm laying there awake.
It's bad enough for adults to go through this, but extra tough for a child and a parent to watch.
on the way

Thanks again,
Another good night! 11pm and got up on her own at 9:40. She is feeling so much better.
We found out her high school will send tutor for 20 days at a time. I think the stress of attending so sporadically was hurting her sleep.
Also, we have been trying to wean of Trazadone 200mg! I had been doing 150mg plus klonopin, then giving more later if not asleep. Last night I gave the 200mg all at once..This knocks her down in 20min. It bothers stomach and its hard to do it to her. At this pt. it is the lesser of two evils, so to say.
Going to ped sleep specialist on Monday, who wks closely with Dr. J; he is concerned that starting IV could make sleep worse. May need a sleep study for which she can take not meds for 3 days. Trying not to focus on that and fear.
Have any of you had experience of sleeplessness or good sleep with IV antibiotic?
Thanks again. You are a lifeline for me at this point. Poll the audience? Fifty-fifty? Phone a friend?
