I POSTED HERE, INSTEAD OF MEDICAL, BECAUSE IT'S AN UPDATE TO AN EARLIER POST. AND IT IS MORE ABOUT SUPPORT, REALLY.

I posted about "when bad news is good news." I spoke of the possibility of my getting a positive Babs test. I knew that even if it weren't positive, I would still get treatment (fortunately) since they treat based on clinical findings. I hoped for a positive test, though, for my own sanity. I've been quite certain about having Babs for years.

Well, it wasn't positive, and the PA's response was confusing. He said that the Lyme is swimming in my blood (positive PCR), so that I should take my ABX. (Why would he need to say this if they treat based on clinical findings?) He didn't say anything about Babs treatment, so I raised the issue. He said that the doxy and Plaquenil (I'm taking for Lyme) would have a slight effect(?). If I improve with it, then I will get treated for Babs.

Well, I am treating for Lyme and Bart now. If I'm not offered a trial of Babs tx, I might just seek it on my own with artemesia. I mean, the doctor consulted and even suggested Babs! I will press the issue after a couple of months, that's for sure.

I'm so confused about what appears to be conflicting information from the PA.

P.S. The Babs panel went through IgeneX.

This is just my opinion, but I do not think that artemesia or artemesinin by itself will treat babs. Actually Dr B on Long Island suggests taking one of these herbs with the appropriate antibiotics. Have been told that babs can become treatment resistant if not treated by correct combo of meds.

Thanks, WV Hillbilly!

Well, I'll focus on the Lyme and Bart. Then, I'll broach the Babs subject soon.

Hey Steph,

WOW. I think Lyme and Bart treatment is more than enough to deal with at one time. Da**ed near killed me and I wasn't even on much for Lyme at the time.

I know they'll treat you for coinfections despite negative testing, but honey don't kill yourself in the process. [kiss]

Thanks, friend! Yeah, I'm under a rock with this treatment alone! In due time, I can press the Babs issue.

Thanks for the kind words, folks!

Yeah, maybe they don't want to overload me. That may be why the PA spoke of the Lyme swimming in my blood. I have a huge germ load after decades of mostly no treatment, and little proper treatment later. Once the Lyme load is down, and the Bart is, hopefully, dealt with, they might offer me more for Babs.

I got very, very sick only halfway up with the ABX initially, and I wasn't even taking all support meds yet, including a cyst-buster. I'm just now beginning to add everything in, and it's almost a month later.

Hanging in there for the long haul! Steph
