I'm a Mom who has a son with Lymes disease (age 18 - had it close to a year). We just found this out about a month a half ago, after a long road of several trips to different doctors. I could tell you our story, but it's sounds so much like yours. I just need to hear some "good" stories. Let us know about your road to recovery. Did you have a terrible time finding the truth (doctors not believing you? etc..) how long have you been in treatment? what improvements you have seen, are you considered close to being cured or in remission? We just need to hear some good stuff.....especialy for our son. Pain and depression are his biggest battles. We are currently working with a doctor who uses both medical and alternative medience.

p.s. My husband and I own a small dairy farm. Love to hear from any farm Mom's. How are you coping with it all. I know my days are stress out enough with the farm, let alone with this awful disease our son is going thru.

Hey Mom,
Another cheezer here, near Wausau. I sent you a PM with some additional info.
My teenage son developed symptoms in Oct.04, diagnosed in Dec.04, and he's still being treated though he's virtually symptom free for some weeks now. We're near the end of his treatment.
We went from him being in a wheelchair in Jan.05, to 3 months incapacitation in bed due to severe pain everywhere, hallucinations, migraines, insomnia, etc., etc. He missed 6 months of his freshman year and had to be home tutored. He was hospitalized at least a dozen times.
Now, he looks as if he was never sick a day in his life. He had both lyme, and babesia. There's hope. Send me a PM and we'll get your son back on track. -Mike

It was so hard to look at my once active son in so much pain he could not move. He has had the run around for several years at school. I deal directly with the super. now. School is better.
James has made HUGE progress since about June. He is back in regular school. He is still slow to complete but is getting A/Bs.
He took his PSAT's today. I asked him how it went in Math. He said he didn't know the answer to one problem and couldn't finish the last problem! It sounds like his brain cells were working today. He did say the vocab was hard. I expected that.
When he was his sickest I had to hope and trust the stories I heard from other parents that their kids got better. James is doing well. We just had a medication change so we'll see what happens, but I think we are over the worst part here too.
