I read in another post that Michael J. Fox has Lyme in addition to Parkinson's. Can anyone substantiate that fact as my youngest son has Parkinson's. Since we all camped as a family in an area in the National Forrest in Tallahassee, Florida, and I have a dx of MS and Lyme, before I tell him to get checked I would need to know. If you have any written info or a website I would appreciate it.

If I remember correctly, MJF stated in an interview on TV and in People magazine that he "once had" Lyme disease. This was BEFORE his dx with Parkinson's.

My late father also was dxd with "Parkinson's"....he died before my dx. I do believe my father had Lyme....for sure.

There's one theory that Lyme IS Parkinson's, and another that Lyme causes Parkinson's. Either way, there's HOPE if your son were tested and properly treated. What if he gets BETTER!!!!!!!

I wish I knew how you would check this out. Maybe someone here will know. You could type in "Michael J. Fox + Lyme" into Google.

Hi,

I don't know if this will help at all since my memory is verrrry hazy, but I remember seeing some show about Michel J Fox.

At some point they said something about another person on the set of one of his shows also came down with "Parkinsons" and how weird and co-incidental that was.

I remember that little tidbit stuck with me because I thought to myself what are the odds of two people getting Parkinsons like that?

It was more than one. There were about 7 people who became ill. I think they were filming in British Columbia.

Yes, that is true and it might have been the movie made in the Carolina's "Doc Hollywood" but my memory is not the greatest either. I have lots of neurocognitive issues which have been blamed on MS but may be the Lyme instead. I'm keeping my fingers crossed while I'm getting treatment.

Well, I found the answer on google. Michael J. Fox passed off his tremors as being from Lyme because he did not want the higher ups in Hollywood (Employers) to know he had Parkinsons. Here the site from 1999.

Sqiqqy, David Landers, also hid the fact that he had MS by letting everyone think he was drinking.
