Hey all,

Just finished reading the thread on all the new gremlins - http://flash.lymenet.org/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=3;t=013552

Am still laughing hysterically. Thank you all for making my stomach hurt from laughter instead of puking or other!!

On a more sweet and poignant note I wanted to share something with y'all...

Friends and family lovingly held a benefit for me last June 17th. On that very day I was reading one of my daily meditations (Melody Beattie - The Language of Letting Go).

Here is what it said:

We do not move forward by resisting
what is undesirable in our life today.

We move forward, we grow,
we change by acceptance.

Surrender opens the door.

We are each in our present circumstances
for a reason.

There is a valuable lesson that must
be learned before we can move forward.

Something important is being worked out in us,
and in those around us.

We may not be able to identify it today,
but we can know that it is important.

We can know it is good.

Overcome not by force, overcome by surrender.

The battle is fought, and won, inside ourselves.

We must go through it until we learn,
until we accept, until we become grateful,
until we are set free.

Eerie that my mind was swirling with those thoughts on that day before reading it.

The words resonated and I've referred back to it when I've been in need of perspective.

Blessings to all, [kiss]

Sorry, but I do not think surrender is the ideal solution to living a good life.

One would have to surrender all intelligence and emotion and character to follow this philosophy.

One would have to give up in face of any challenge, abuse,or even war.

Not for me.
