Trying to get a general idea of what LLMD visits cost. Don't want to know who you go to, just cost of intial visit and followup visits.

Initial $350
Followup $150

Thanks

Hi,

I'm new to this site. What does LLMD stand for?

Also, those costs are near what my CFIDS/FM work-up was at Dr. Bateman's in Salt Lake City. (See: http://www.cfids.org/about/bateman.asp.) But the first visit, work-up was $400, then $160 for a 1 hr vist, $100 for a 1.2 hr visit. Unless you see one of her P.A.'s (Physician's Assistant).

P.S. elle, I went to a Family Practice doctor experienced in treating Lyme patients (friends told me about him, and I phoned to find out if he knew about Lyme). His prices are cost much less. Don't know if that helps.

Hi Lymetoo, [hi]

THANKS! I racked my brain. (Yes, there is a pun there, but it's a poor one, on Lyme.)

I bookmarked the page. "Brave new world!" isn't it.

I like your "lyme2wiggles." They sure made me laugh! [lol] Nice. I needed that. I like your signature, too.

Elle,

My LLMD was $325 for the initial 90+minute visit. Plus test costs and supplements. In all, I think I spent $500 that day.

Subsequent visits have been MUCH less (about $115, if I'm remembering it correctly).

What I've heard on this board is that prices fluxuate a lot between LLMDs. Mine, like most others, didn't take my insurance, so I also had a dedictible to meet before I could start getting reimbursed.

Hope this helps!

Andie

Initial visit is close to $300. If you don't have positive tests in hand.

$85.00 once a month visit. Phone calls "quick question" free.

I think it's a $20.00 blood draw in office for MDL labs(insurance covers) and Igenix(have to pay out of pocket). $20.00 copay to go to Quest for other blood work.

$$$$$$$$$$$
It's just money but it's sucking the life out of us.

Thanks, cecy!! [Big Grin]

Concerning prices, we have to consider the location of the LLMD. The cost of living figures into this also. I would think that generally speaking, drs in CA and the East Coast are going to be higher than the prices elsewhere.

The $240 was the office visit for 1, so we paid $960 plus lab work.

We pay $10 per follow up visit, so it is just 30 for the 3 of us. It costs some in gas and food getting there. We have spectacular insurance thru BlueCross/BlueShield. My husband has and extremely long commute, but we can't give insurance up.
I wasn't sure I should admit how little we pay. Don't anyone smack me.
Seriously I thought it might help someone who might be considering job change to try to get bc/bs.

PAB,

OUCH! I was there October 2004 and it was $170. I have been trying to get in but always booked when I can go, so I am "on my own", but doing ok with it! I have tried to book 3 months out twice with no luck! He is a busy man!

Hope your appointment went well and improvements are being made!

JJ
