I am a 26 year old male. I have some misc. college credits, and some limited Sales experience. I am finding it tough in this day age where resumes are strictly submitted via email, to get in front of someone and generate a future interview. As it stands now, it seems as if i am only qualified for wharehouse work. As I am so up and down, this does not seem like a legitimate possibility. Other possibilities suggested such as security, just will cover my bills. My sales experience is in the Trade Show industy. I was with an exhibit house for 5 years(on and off as I was getting sick). The obvious solution is stay within the industry. But again, with the 1 year of sales experience, I am finding it tough to get an interview. Does anyone have any suggestions as far as employment is concerned? Im sure Im not the youngest on this board, and there must be people like me facing these challenges. I have been ill for 5 years, really sort of preventing me from pursuing the necessary education you need as a "minimal requirement". Just not sure what to do..

What about a position as a Marketing/Trade show Assistant for a specialized industry?

Many industries (e.g. haircare, cosmetics, food & beverages, luxury goods) need personnel with trade shows experience, as preparing for them is one of the main functions of the job.

The chance is, you'll also need Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Entry level may allow you some Lyme brain time [Wink]

Does the exhibit house you worked for have a way you can work doing online stuff? Or working at a computer at home? Something you can take at your own health's speed? Your experience and personal viewpoint are both worth something. (There should be LL [Lyme Litterate] Employers; maybe there are.) You have a lot to offer. Have you thought about doing a video "interview" selling yourself (on a good day). Maybe a friend, in the industry or who knows you well or both, would help as an interviewer, or simply help you get the clip done. Plan it, write out what your main point will be, lay it out, plan natural breaks so that it runs smoothly. It might be place to start, to feel you're moving forward into possibilities.
