I found an engorged tick in my bed. I live in Sarasota, Florida. Where can I send this tick to be tested to see if it contains Lyme or other infections?

IGeneX will test ticks. Check them out at
http://www.igenex.com - also, they're one of the best tickborne diseases lab around. They're in Palo Alto, California.

Some people treat anyway regardless of test results as there's so many strains of borrelia that who knows???

I think the cost is somewhere in the $60 neighborhood.

Don't feel completely safe if the test comes up negative. Mine did and I became ill anyway. There are at least 300 strains of Lyme and the test doesn't cover 1/10 of them.
