Hello,

You have been great with sources on our rights as to homebound instruction.

Unfortunately, I can't get my mind to synthesize info down to a few pts of what IDEA can provide.

Did get that funding should not be deciding factor
hich they are trying to pull. (6 hrs for both kids is equal to a fifth of a teacher! No answer to my ? are you paying the tutor benefits?)

Also see that no low standards which certainly applies in situation where admin. is unsure whether we should persue full load(we have 504 accomadations) "if they are that sick"

Am I correct in the above? Any more simple rights would be appreciated as the school is sad to say in a very defensive posture.

Thank you friends,
Susan

Suz, I wish you the best..Remember you must be a "Momma Panther"..They will give you lip service otherwise..They are not going to say, ok what would you like us to do for your child/children? Well they might, but it will be just to make you think that they will do it..

You must get it all it writing..It must have some teeth and you must follow thru on it every week or at least every two weeks..lymemomtooo

When you can't think clearly it becomes a real trial not to burst into tears in a situation like this. I'll have to ask my husband, who is a an administrator (one of the "good" ones) what he thinks. You might have to go to permanent home instruction...we had a daughter sick for two terms, different years, and some teachers were more helpful than others. Grade school was easier to work out than upper grades. There should be a lot of lee-way granted so that, if you child can attend any school, he/she is not penalized or seen as "well" that day. Should be able to come home at any time, and make up anything missed by the end of term, not by the avg day after thing. Hope this helps.
