Even though I am sick and often depressed about my Lyme Illness I have so much to be thankful for. I have a warm house, food on the table, and wonderful friends and family and lymenet for support.
I have hiked in the Swiss Alps, been on top of the Eiffel Tower and gone white water rafting.
What are you thankful for? Many blessings as Thanksgiving Day approaches. Hiker

First off I am thankful for finding an llmd, because God only knows where I'd be right now.
My family, friends,and my dog.
I am also thankful that I was able to enjoy the beaches of the Caribbean before I got sick.
I also white water rafted once. I really am blessed because I've been able to do and have more than most that have it worse off than me.
I am also thankful for my higher being for giving me the strength and courage to fight this dreaded disease.

Courage, determination, perseverence, OH God, all faith, it will come. Why ? SOOOOOOOOOOOOO, long, it makes us better, somehow, some way, lyme children end up special, doctor's, lawyer's, compassion, that NO humans know, maybe that's why ? They know better, a little, cursed us or blessed us ? Why children ? I don't either, until they grow.
It's horrific, until they get older, then they know. So will we.
Ben Franklin said on his death bed..................it's so beautiful,I finally see the light............... but lyme kids say.................I've got miles to ride................but.......they'll see the light too.......many years later...............maybe sooner............that's why Hiker...................we do what we do.

I am thankful for some improvement in my daughter.Just a laugh and a smile last night was a blessing..There is hope...But the road is long..
And for all of the lyme support here and thru our local group and a couple of old sages of lyme and finding some great Drs..Along with a few friends and family members that have helped my sanity..
I wish I knew what was working..She has been on many types of abx over 3 years but currently is taking an occasional IM Bacilin (due to a blood issue and some compliance/teenageritis issues this is not as often as the Dr wants),along with Seroquel, Lexapro, Mg and digestive enzymes, chlorella, melatonin at bedtime and a few new good friends..Other supplements as I can get them into her..
She was hospitalized a couple of months ago for ect's..She was able to have 3. It was to help her OCD, that had not responded to meds. Just prior to this, she had some Levaquin..
I do not know what has made the improvement but something has helped for this miracle..So thank God and Drs..
Happy Holidays all..lymemomtooo

What a great post! I have so much to be thankful for. A great husband who met and married me while I was sick, a very kind teenage daughter, my 3 rescue dogs who fight for a place on the couch with me. Family, friends, my insurance plan, lymenet, my computer and the ability to research, and many other things. All of you have a wonderful Thanksgiving and many blessings to each of you! Wonderful post, Hiker!
I am thankful that I can still work, and that I have a supportive workplace that will doggedly "carry" me through my bad days uncomplainingly.
I'm thankful for the increasing numbers of GOOD HEAD DAYS!!!!
I'm thankful my daughter's bad knees/CDC positive tests seem to have evaporated in just four months of treatment.. She's on Flagyl now and barely noticing it.
I'm thankful I get to cook for my mother this thanksgiving.. She just underwent surgery for a large malignant tumor obstructing her colon. It might recur, but I will be thankful for every single month, day, and moment that it doesn't.
I'm thankful for LymeNet, without which I never would have found my awesome LLMD, just a mere hour and a half drive away.
I'm thankful for beautiful fall leaves to photograph, and for silvery fall steelhead, who may be tricked into taking my fly...

My family, friends, this support group and the fact that I am still sitting here 5 years after a breakout of symptoms when I honestly thought I was going to lose my life.

Gosh, im thankful for so much. Thankful for my cat who has stuck by me thru some very scary days, she has never left my side. Thankful for my family, who has been there for me and has provided transportation since i cannot drive. I have a warm house, and food. This support group for being here for me every hour of the day answering my many many posts...at times when i thought i was dying. Mostly i want to thank everyone who has prayed for me and for God for allowing me to find the path, the courage and determination i have needed to get thru the darkest of days. I also believe a higher power had something to do with me getting my test results back today, so i could move my appointment up to this Saturday for that I am very thankful!

I am so thankful for the two spiritual things that happened to me in the last 2 1/2 yrs. One lead me to my rife machine, the second lead me to a muscle testing doc. The first spiritual encounters that I ever experienced in my life.
Thanks be to God!

I've been reading this thread since hiker started it...and I've been ticking off a mental list of all I'm grateful for.
Like Hiker, I've had some extraordinary experiences in my life -- many of them beyond my wildest dreams.
Now, my life is about simpler things. I'm truly grateful to finally know what's been wrong with me these past few years.
I['m grateful that I understand more fully than I ever have before what it means to be with someone through sickness and in health.
Learning how to receive and deepening my compassion -- those, to me, are priceless gifts for which I'm truly grateful.
I switched from a pretty high-powered life to working with kids-- many of them inner-city kids. Nothing's better than seeing a child's face finally start to light up with hope and confidence.
Our dog. The alley cat who picked us as his new family.
My LLMD, my family. The friends who've stuck with me and the ones who couldn't -- they all have different gifts.
This community. I thank God for this every day. It's a good, safe place for me to be and to realize that no matter how awful I feel at any time, I'm not alone...
Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!
Andie
