The Spirit helps us in our present limitations. For example, we do not know how to pray worthily, but His spirit within us is actually praying for usin those agonising longings which cannot find words.

Methinks this should be put off-topic. Ann - OH
Maybe starting a Christian lyme support group online would be a better outlet for spreading the 'word'. That way the 'word' doesn't have to put into any category. People with lyme and a need for religious support would have a place to go then.
Just an idea.

Hi everyone,
Thanks to "the supported" who responded.
We will keep the scripture of the day under General Support. I changed my mind back as it is a fact that many do not check off topic.
Those of you who do not feel supported by a bible verse; you are free to ignore the posts or read as you will. You might be surprised...At any rate, I don't see that we will be hurting anyone by discussion a verse and how it relates to us as individuals affected by lyme.
I hope that we can all continue to accept each other here understanding that we each have a different take on life and lyme and that is what makes this place awesome.
Those who felt supported and posted, thanks. I have a feeling that this is the beginning of something good.
I will post the verse or verses without any comments. I am doing this to get the word alone out there so that the reader can come to his own conviction on what it means, and what it is saying to him or her.
I would appreciate comments or sharing if you would like. Always learn so much from what others get out of it.
...............
But remember, the temptations that come into your life are no different than what others experience. And God is faithful. He will keep the temptation from becoming so strong that you can't stand against it. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you will not give in to it.

If someone doesn't want to look at the thread, they don't have to. You clearly marked the topic as "scripture". Pretty explanatory I think.

Lymetoo- yesterday was New American Standard Version. New International Version and The Message are also easier versions to read. I will post the reference from here on. If only I could them into practice better!
Heatherkiss- Got my days and nights reversed! I will try to get these up earlier!
Tell your neighbor the truth. In Christ's body we're all connected to each other, after all. When you lie to others, you end up lying to yourself.
Go ahead and be angry. You do well to be angry--but don't use your anger as fuel for revenge. And don't stay angry. Don't go to bed angry. Don't give the Devil that kind of foothold in your life.

Char, I'm glad I finally looked at this thread. Your verses are a help. The one on anger especially. The Sunday before Thanksgiving, our minister asked the congregation to share with each other the things we have to be thankful for. My husband and I looked at each other and couldn't say a thing. It was all I could do to keep the tears from pouring. We are about to enter our fourth year of our daughter's battle with lyme and things haven't been going well for her. We managed to keep our composure in church; but it was one of the lowest days we have had. Later that week, I got an email from a Bible Study friend, who had noticed the pain on my husband's face. Her caring and compassion brought me back on track. Just this morning, I received this verse from another Bible Study friend: "Seek the Lord and his strength, seek his presence continually. Remember the wonderful works he has done and his miracles" Psalm 105:4-5 I find Him in these wonderful people around me and in you, who have the courage to express your faith in a forum where it is most needed. Thank you!

I don't have the sense of needing anything personally: I've learned by now to be quite content whatever my circumstances. I'm just as happy with little as with much, with much as with little. I've found the recipe for being happy whether full or hungry, hands full or hands empty. Whatever I have, wherever I am, I can make it throught anything in the One who makes me who I am. I don't mean that your help didn't mean a lot to me--it did. It was a beautiful thng that you came alongside me in my troubles.

We pray that you'll have the strength to stick it out over the long haul--not the grim strength of gritting your teeth but the glory-strength God gives.
It is strength that endures the unendurable and spills over into joy, thanking the Father who makes us strong enough to take part in everything bright and beautiful that he has for us.

These are great. I have the NIV and was wondering what the "relaxed" version was! The Message is pretty relaxed, I would say!
It would help me and perhaps others to put quotation marks around the verse. On a few occasions, I have thought it was you talking and not the Bible! I guess it's when you've used The Message that I get caught off guard a bit.
I love all the verses but don't have the mental energy to discuss them right now. Thanks ever so much.

Lymetoo-
I am happy to put quotation marks around the scripture.
The gentleman who put together the Message translation lived and did ministry in Middle East. Was a shepherd at one pt. Through his study, he came to conclusion that Jesus' words and the rest of New Testament in original language had a more of a leaning toward the colloquial than had been communicated in previous translations. This makes sense to me as Jesus spent more time with the uneducated masses than with the learned. I appreciate hearing it straight and unadorned. Of course, everyone is different and any version is the word of God.
You won't find comments or preaching from me on this thread...I am a weak sinner, this moment especially. And we can't improve on God's word.
Of course, I am up to hear other's impressions and discuss. Here or pm.
I hope you are holding up ok with your situation. Been thinking of you. It is encouraging to know of the love that you are showing to your mom in her last days. This is a very good example.
It is God's will that your should be sanctified and that you should avoid sexual immorality; that each of you should learn to control his own body in a way that is holy and honorable not in passionate lust like the heathens who do not know God; and in this matter no one should wrong his brother or take advantage of him.

We're so proud of you; you're so steady and determined in our faith despite all the hard times that have come down on you. We tell everyone we meet in the churches all about you.
All this trouble is a clear sign that God has decided to make you fit for the kingdom. You're suffering now, but justice is on the way. When the Master Jesus appears out of heaven in a blaze of fire with his strong angels, he'll even up the score by settling accounts with those who gave you such a bad time. His coming will be the break we've been waiting for.

A devout life does bring wealth, but it is the rich simplicity of being yourself before God. Since we entered the world penniless and will leave it penniless, if we have bread on the table and shoes on our feet, that's enough.

Every part of scripture is God-breathed an useful one way or another--showing us truth, exposing our rebellion, correcting our mistakes, traing us to live God's way. Through the Word we are put together and shaped up for the tasks God has for us.

Char, I am new here and I wanted to say that more than anything else I have read, the Bible verses have helped the most. More than poetry, suggestions, or encouraging words, this has truly been a support. Please keep posting these Scriptures. I believe they are powerful beyond what we think. Many thanks, Lisa

"Keep your eyes on Jesus, who both began and finished this race that we're in. Study how he did it. ecause he never lost sight of where he was headed--that exhilarating finish in and with God--he could put up with anything along the way: cross, shame, whatever.
And now he's here, in the place of honor, right alongside God.
When you find yourselves flagging in your faith, go over that story again, item by item, that long litany of hostility he plowed through.
That will shoot adrenaline into your souls!"

And I saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down from out of heaven from God.
And I heard a loud voice from the throne, saying, "Now God's prescence will be with people, and he will live with them, and they will be his people. God himself will be with them and will be their God.

And I saw a new heaven and a new earth. The first heaven and the first earth had disappeared, and there was no sea anymore.
And I saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God. It was prepared like a bride dressed for her husband.
And I heard a loud voice from the throne, saying, "Now God's presence is with people, and he will live with them, and they will be his people. God himself will be with them and well be their God.
He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death, sadness, crying, or pain, because all the old ways are gone."
