I always think that telling what you got for Christmas is about as much fun as getting it!! I got a $300 gift certificate to put towards a new clothes washer. For the rest of the story I went to my sons wedding out of town for 4 days. Came back home to the washer puking out the top and had been for 4 days. Water, water everywhere!!! Ruined about half the house, size wise, vinyl flooring AND the particle board subflooring. Subfloor is mostly all removed now and I have underlayment on piles, but is 'wrong' stuff so have to load it all up, take it back and get differnt stuff, plywood, and getting it cut and installed. Only 16-20 <4' X 8'> sheets. Oh well someday!! So what did you get for Christmas??? Inquiring minds what to know???

I always ask for money or gift certificates, so that way I can buy what I need or want.
Every year my mother in law gets me a sweater. It's always too big - sleeves past my hands and bottom of sweater to my knees (yikes).
I tell her all the time that I'm a size 4 or small, but she still buys me a size 8 or medium. Oh, well, at least I can exchange it.
I think the absolutely worst gift I've ever gotten was from my soon to be ex-husband. He got me a Thigh Master. I looked at him dumbfounded. He said "well, you like to exercise".
This year I got some really nice jewelry from a friend, money from my dad, and several gift certificates. Oh, yea!!! Happy shopping for me!!!

I got exactly the coat I wanted, from my dog.
No matter who is living in my house, my pets always get me the coolest stuff.

Well to my surprise my husband got me the nicest gifts this yr.. he got me a 24K gold Bizantine Necklas and bracelet to match. He bought me these shelves I've been wanting, the Kodak photo printer, the Wizard of OZ special edition CD, a new curling iron for my hair, a Lion King Disney figurine, and a 14K gold bangle bracelet..

Don, so sorry about the washer! I hope you get your money back on that one. Don't know the particulars about how it all happened, but maybe you could get some money from them to repair your house, too. And whoever installed it should be made to come and remove it.
We had a quiet Christmas at home for the first time in years. It was very nice. We did all our usual traditional things.
I got several good books, some candy, 3 kinds of goat cheese, a great loaf of sourdough bread, a case of non-alcoholic beer (Kaliber) that I love and a big supply of dried fruit, which I also love, a gorgeous vase, and some beads that my granddaughter made, and a nice little travel bag. I am sure I left something out, but from my widely-scattered eclectic family it was all great.

geeze don, that water "problem" doesn't sound like too much fun.
this was the first year ever I didn't get anything for anybody 'cause I gots no money!
I received a necklace and a prayer shawl from Tibet which a friend who had visited there this fall brought me. Very cool.
I got two books, one of which needs to get returned. A chenile cozy lap thing. Candy. A beautiful blank notebook which would have been something prized if I still had a brain to write. Not.
my cats gave me some extra fur on the carpet.

I had the washer overflow once....never let that happen again! What a mess. You have my sympathy.
For Christmas I got shingles...not the kind you nail onto the outside of a house.

My daughter brought me a lovely soft scarf and hat, also a new photo album!
Lacking a significant other, I was forced to have a heart-to-heart discussion with Santa.
I informed him I really could not go on much longer without a 50mm f/1.8 lens for my Nikon. At a relatively cheap $99, he put one on his sleigh.
No one has been safe since...

What beautiful pictures!
When I first got married my husband wouldn't get me anything, and I was o.k. with it.
One year he went to WalGreens on Christmas Eve and saw some little MeMaw going through the 75% off bin--she was looking at plastic dutch-girl gardening shoes. He had his finger in his mouth, his heart was racing--it was the last pair of X-large! MeMaw moved on and he snagged the shoes--I actually did like them.
Then four years ago I watched all four kids open their presents and husband opened all his presents--and I had one present to open--from my sweet, sweet step-daughter.
I AM SANTA CLAUSE--I do all buying, wrapping, cooking--everything. Lyme or no Lyme--he could ask me what I want and order it online.
We had a come-to-Jesus meeting. It got ugly--but for the last three years I have gotton at least one nice gift.
This year I got a turcoise watch made in Santa Fe. I love it!
Don, I hope the insurance is going to cover your damage. My sister went out of town and her refrigerator ice machine sprayed a mist all over the kitchen floor--it rotted quick in the heat--her insurance covered it all.
