Hi - I am new here, but unfortunately not to being sick. Although I have been recently diagnosed, I think it has been over 10 years.

Being diagnosed with Lyme has really changed things. I am getting better, but what a battle it is. I feel very alone because my friends and family are living their lives (marraige, kids, work), as they should, and I am not able to.

It's nobodys fault, but I have been left behind. Sometimes I feel a deep sense of loss. This illness is like a theif in the night.

I have many questions, especially about dealing with the local medical community when trying to get help.

Rachel, welcome to the site and our lyme world. We are our own lyme support group since we walk in your shoes.

Be sure to print off TREEPATROL'S NEWBIE LINKS on 1st screen of medical. Check them off as you read most important 1st. Months of reading there.

Print off Dr. B's 2005 lyme guidelines, 40 pages; he's our lyme literate MD, LLMD.

Hi Rachel.

Welcome! You will find lots of support and friends here. Hopefully, since you're new in treatment, you will start to feel better and be able to do more soon.

About being left behind -- hmm, I have a couple of sleeping teenagers I can send over. I have to cart them around shopping today, then to a birthday party, then pick them up afterward, etc., etc. Sigh... Oh, for a few hours to just go fishing??? Oh yeah, I know, I know, I'll miss that when they're gone!!! [Eek!]

Exactly! I've been in treatment for 5 1/2 yrs and I've never attended a "real" support group. There IS one about 40 miles from me.

But, I don't need it since I have all of YOU!! [Razz]

Welcome, Tapestry!! Glad you found us!!
