ONLY IF YOU GO TO A STATE OF THE ART TATTOO PARLOR.
My husband goes to a place that is so sanitary it's amazing. They have disposable needles & inks.
I wouldn't go to a place that sanitizes their own needles.
He's had no problems. He's gotten 2 tattoos while sick with Lyme.

I would not put any foreign substance in my body (ink) no matter how clean and sterile it was.
I would like a tatto also, but won't do it now that I have lyme. I would only want to do what will help me heal ..... I don't consider a tatto "healing".
I am sure there are some who get them and have no problem. But for me, it is not worth the chance. I want so badly to get better I will not do anything to get in the way of that. Simply not worth the risk.
Just my opinion, robi

Some perfectly healthy people get terribly sick after having tatoos cuz they have a bad reaction to the coloring agents or something else in the ink itself. Its not just the lack of sterile office that can give you trouble the rest of your life.
If you would take a turn for the worse it would be hard to know what the cause was and I doubt if the tattoo would make you happy enough to put up with the dminished health.
Everything in life is a risk/reward decision so ask yourself if the reward is worth the risk?
Do you really need a tattoo to make yourself happy and if so why.
Driving in my car is a risk but I choose to do so cuz I have to get to the doc and get food but having a tattoo to live a full live is not a risk I need to take.

Thanks guys. It was just kind of a fun thought that I had. I don't think I will do it. At least not for a while. I need to get better first. At this point though, I doubt that will ever happen.

Just think in 30-40 yers about all the 'wrinkled 'up tattooed little old ladies running(or shuffling) around nursing homes.
WW2 vets and other war vets (service personel) came home with tattoos and then they had them removed to be in certain professions.
Why would anyone "want" one to start with? About as smart as starting to smoke cuz its cool.
The superbowl yesterday had players with them sticking out all over. Seems like too much money and too little thought about future plans. They wont be 'young' and silly forever!!!

You made me laugh! I actually was just going to do a tiny tattoo like on my shoulder or ankle. Nothing more than that!! However given everything thats been going on, I think Ill pass. With my luck, I would have some huge reaction to the ink that would really, really make me sick!

Hmmmm . . . .My experience. . . . I got one when I was in my early 20's, I'm now 47. Smaller, on my shoulder, not profane. It cost $25.00 to have it put there and over $2000 to have it removed in 03.
After the first few years, it was an embarrassment. The years after that I kept it covered until I could have it removed. I changed, it didn't.

Like Elle - I had a tattoo removed. A lot more painful than getting it also. Five go arounds with the laser.
Tattoo artists are very willing to tell you that you can have it removed but mine was about a one inch in diameter tattoo and cost about $2000.00 to get rid of it.
Liked it for about two months then it was something I had that I didn't always want. When the current fad fades your tattoo will also, but it will still be there.
For some folks its easier to say they like it than admit they wouldn't do it again, and it was a mistake. Most tattoos are too big to be removed with out a lot of pain and cost.
They do look gross on old people. After I got mine I started to see the older guys from WW II and thier tats sure did look ratty. I had mine for 25 years before having it removed. It was one of the best things I ever did.
Considering most tatoos are about three inches in total area that is about $6000.00 for removal. Times that by the number of tattoos and you can see why folks think their ok with it.
Believe it or not tattoos are still considered so negatively that most prisoners get free tattoo removal if they want. You still have limited employment options depending on where the tattoo is.
I have a good friend that was a DJ for Radio Disney and he couldn't wear short sleeves or shorts because of his visible tattoos. This was three years ago not in the dark ages.
There are repercussions....romantically.... how would you feel to be knocked out of the running because of a butterfly tattoo? It happened to me years ago as I fell for someone whose culture deplored them.

I too am tatooed..waiting for the cashola to remove it. I liked it for about 8 years then it seemed out dated..was going to update it a few years ago, but didn't. Thank goodness becuase now it would be still outdated but just BIGGER....lol
I know soneone who has a tiny white tatoo in her bikini area..just above her bikini bottom. And the best part is you only see it when she has a tan!!! It looks really cool and is pretty hidden in that spot. I dare say its the most tasteful tatoo I've seen..
anyway good luck reseaching it..
