Hey all!!! I am a newbiee freshly diagnosed with "lyme type of disease" by a LLMD, living in Boston, but with a set of symptoms pretty different from what is mentioned. I was wondering if someone else had similar symptoms. I am adding a brief description of the onset and the present symptoms.

History of symptoms:
Started March 2004 with burning sensation in a muscle in mid sternum.
April 2004, burning sensations travelled to left shoulder and neck muscles.
August 2004: Floaters, pain, itching in eyes after a massage, and v. bad itching and burning throught upper body.
September 2004: Sudden loss of sensation in feet and hands alongwith change in skin (burned look) and loss of fat/muscle tone. Pain in the sternum area more spread on the muscles in the upper chest and neck, always aggravated by heat.
Nov-Feb 2004: Gen. feeling of toxins through body alongwith the above condition. Right Knee burning sensations and pain.
Present:
Eye pain, floaters in eye, light senstivity and hazziness in letters while reading.
Severe burning sensations in body esp. in the upper chest, right knee and right wrist highly aggravated by heat to the extend that I cant sit in any heated place including sunlight.
Loss in muscle, skin and fat tone in feet in hand. Feel no cushion while walking, and the left feet had a drop in the ligaments. Similary, right hand feels a drop in the muscle tone and the wrist bone pains and swells.
Severe Pain in Teeth
Nerves from left head to chest passing through the ear and jaw feels itchy and heavy.
Pelvic/Hip pain, pain sometimes of standing.
Right Knee continues to burn, and weakness in the muscles.
Head pain and pressures.

My LLMD told that the symptoms can be very widespread. I am on Tet. 1.5g/day for 6 wks with a inc. in symptoms. I recently got my IGENEX test back with
Lyme IgM IND and IgG +ve for 39 and 41 band.
Bartenolla +ve
HME below +ve but above -ve range, with comments on my be developing condition.
Rest were negative.

I was wondering if anyone out there has/had similar symptoms

Love
Radha

Hi Radha,

You'll get more responses if you post in the "Medical" section of the forum, much more traffic in there. However, your symptoms are typical of lyme and bartonella. Band 39 is probably the most specific for lyme. Many here have identical symptoms.

You can certainly get better, but my guess is you'll need extended treatment. Read all you can here and learn. It's the most important thing you can do to help yourself.
