yes, missextreme, is Miss SD, and got lyme at age 12; so she was gathering info here from us members in her presentations on lyme ... her forum!
I'm sure she is exhausted from the 1-2 wks. prior to ceremony.

Don't want to burst your bubbles, but the girl who has written here and has Lyme is not the current Miss South Dakota.
Missextreme is hoping to be the new Miss South Dakota when they have their state pageant. Her is what she wrote to me in a PM when I asked for her name to be able to identiy her in the Miss South Dakota Pageant.
"I am not sure if I will *be* Miss South Dakota yet - but I still get plenty of publicity now. My name is Charis. Hopefully you will see me in the future in bigger pageants, because Lyme needs all the publicity it can get."
I google the Miss South Dakota Pageant regularly, since I do not know when the state pageant is going to be held. I'm sure that Charis will speak for us all when she has an opportunity....and will let us all know when she wins!

Just Googled the pageant again and found that the 60th Miss South Dakota Pageant is to be held on June, 24th. Good luck, Charis!

Nancy, thank you for the update on Charis! The names flew by so quick that night that I couldn't read it anyway.

Hey I just found this post - I am going to be in Miss South Dakota; I am not Miss South Dakota yet. Sorry to disappoint y'all. :-)
Lyme is still getting a platform, but not in the national media yet. There will be a lot of publicity for Lyme Disease anyway. So far, with everyone I have talked to about my platform, I have had tons of interested people.
Thanks for all the support!
