Jenny, I know you're anxious to get test results, but don't rush into it.
My recommendation would be to check with the LLMD you'll be seeing. It's possible you could waste time & money if you don't select the tests the LLMD will order & use the labs that he prefers. In that case, your tests may have to be repeated.
Sometimes they'll use several labs - each for specific tests. Your LLMD may prefer that you wait, or he may like the idea of getting the info before your 1st appt.
I'd definitely ask the LLMD before testing. Just my opinion.

cbb is right. You've been ill a long time and so there's no rush for immediate diagnosis. If you get a PCP to do the test and they don't handle the blood properly and send off the blood early in the week, your test could be skewed.

Above posts are EXACTLY what I was thinking. I had local duck take my blood and 'test' me too, came back negative and EVERY time I see him he reminds me it was negative.
I doubt he handles it(blood) right and or sent to a decent lab, cause he didnt even KNOW where it was sent!!
So he tells me I CANNOT possibly have that because his test is only one that matters.
Long story short, let your LLMD do whats necessary, keets live, multiply, and spread VERY slowly so not ALOT of damage in 8 weeks you didnt already have. But then again I am --just don-- and I DIDNT stay at a Holiday Express!!

I got biaxin from my primary before I got to the Nuero LLMD.
The nuero LLMD wrote out spripts for me to go get tested at my local hospital.
Most regular LLMDs draw blood and send to the labs directly. This saves alot of hassle, time and money as far as I'm concerned.
If your primary doctor is willing get an antibioitc start from her/him go for it. I got 2 months from my primary.
Go with the symptom list in hand and tell him/her all the symptoms you have.
Love and healing
