Hi all!

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/6409077/

He is blogging about Morgellons. I emailed that I believed that Morgellons is a real disease and that many people with Lyme disease get it because of the whole no immune system thing.

Ya'll check it out!

Here's what I sent him or attempted to since OE has never worked right for me from day 1! Betty

Will,
Yes, Morgellon's disease is very real. I am fortunate NOT to have it but have many online CHRONIC LYME/TICK friends who have both illnesses!

They tend to go hand in hand with lyme due to our ER, rashes and our immune systems. People can feel the "bugs" roaming around in themselves. These creatures do come out of the body all over.

I know a Mom whose son was born with lyme disease because she had untreated lyme disease. Son also got Morgellon's ... same as Mom. Dad has lyme too. Mom saw over 120 MDs/specialists to get her CORRECT lyme diagnosis! WHY?

Have you done an article on CHRONIC LYME disease? We can NOT be cured because we have been misdiagnosed too many years/decades! We can only hope for remisson.

I was misdiagnosd for 34 years, and in chronic lyme treatment almost 2 years now. I saw between 40-50 MDs/specialists before i finally got a CORRECT diagnosis of lyme disease.

It took a western blot IGM/IGG blood test sent to IGENEX labs in Palo Alto, Calif. which tested for all 16 protein bands; I was positive on both and met CDC standards to be COUNTED in their yearly statistics.

In many cases, IV antibiotics must be given since nothing else works. This costs the patient $3 - $10,000 OUT OF POCKET per month! I know women who had been on IVs for 5-10 years! Bankrupted!

Many of our LLMD, chronic LYME LITERATE MDs, opt out of medicare, etc. so it's PRIVATE PAY to see our LLMDs and many of the blood testings, etc.

Lyme disease mimics 300 other illnesses: fibromyalgia pain, chronic fatigue, ALS, MS, Parkinson's, Bell's palsy, Alzheimer's/dementia, all mental illnesses, and the list goes on and on.

I also watch a lot on MSNBC; how about a 1 hr. chronic lyme disease show. I've got lots of ideas for you.

Let's deal nationwide with CHRONIC LYME by funding for it instead of all the money allocated for West Nile Virus & the Bird Flu, which isn't here yet!

Betty Gordon, age 57
Ames, Iowa

any questons, EMAIL me; I'm in bed a majority of the time, and have a baby's sleeping hours IF I'm lucky! [Smile]
