Greetings from Dr. B! I urge everyone to make a supreme effort to attend the Rally in Connecticut this Friday, June 2nd.
This rally is in support of patient's rights- the right for them and their family to be properly diagnosed and treated, by the LLMD of their choice.
Patient's rights in this case also means Physician's rights- their right, and their moral and ethical duty to treat their patients appropriately. The bulk of worldwide clinical literature, plus the experience of literally tens of thousands of Lyme patients all support the truth that Lyme and its associated co-infections are not easy to diagnose, not easy to treat, and that an individualized approach, often involving prolonged treatment courses is needed to successfully treat the chronically ill patient. Despite this, we all are being restricted by insurance companies and the either ill-informed or unethical docs who are willing to support limiting treatments by siding with the insurance companies.
To further limit patient's rights to appropriate care, attacks are still being made to LLMDs by medical boards, insurers, etc. Without LLMDs, the chronically sick Lyme patient will be unable to receive needed treatment.
Apparently the only way we can prevail is to, just as in the case with HIV-AIDS, go public, seek the support of our elected officials, and BE HEARD!
On a personal note, I look back several years ago when I was being investigated by OPMC in New York. I received such wonderful support from so many generous and thoughtful people that I was able to draw upon the strength of others to keep going. I was able to prevail, and to continue my work unrestricted, because TRUTH ALWAYS WINS OUT IN THE END! Now is the time for us to once again pull together- all of us- and appear in huge numbers. I firmly believe that this is important enough to take off a day from work, school, etc. This sacrifice will be paid back tremendously by the warmth and camaraderie of the event and what it will accomplish.
So, you MUST come to the rally! I know travel is difficult and expensive, so try to come in groups to share the expenses and to keep everyone company.
There will be press coverage, so do come prepared with your stories (written out to give to the reporters to read and reference), and be prepared to speak out in one loud voice that we will not allow our health care to be inappropriately restricted.
I look forward to seeing everyone this Friday
Remember, we will not go away!!!
Best wishes to all,

I was having trouble finding information on this event.
I went to the Lyme Disease Association, Inc. (with the pretty pine branch to your left) and found this: [quote] Patients have organized a Lyme Rights Rally Gain to gain recognition for this national health crisis, support physicians, and support Lyme literate physicians.
Friday, June 2, 2006, 1-3 pm, State Capitol Building, Hartford, CT.
Guest Speakers: Connecticut Attorney General Richard Blumenthal; Joseph Burrascano, MD; Brooke Landau from E! Entertainment; Sandy Berenbaum; Pat Smith, LDA President. For more information: [email protected].[end quote]

I believe it's from 12 - 3, and there's more speakers - (info appended)
We ALL need to go !!
This is the one rally to show up at if it is at all, in any way humanly possible.
ENLIGHTEN your friends and family - bring them along to hear the speakers!
quoting EllenLu:
"So many of Dr. Jones patient have expressed so much love and gratitude for him over the years. This is the time to show it. And to stand up for your life and the lives of your family members."
If anyone absolutely cannot get there, send someone in your place!
This will effect all the LLMD's nationally, one way or the other.
Getting to Hartford by Car VERY IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR PARKING!!!! Please note that two sets of directions are given on link below.
