Last week I emailed Fox61 in Hartford about the lack of Rally Coverage. I received this email today: _________________________________________________ You might be interested to know that Lyme Disease is one of the featured topics on this week's edition of "Beyond the Headlines"

I sent an email back thanking her for letting me know and also encouraging more Lyme coverage.

The show is at 8:00AM Sunday. Please send feedback/corrections/thank yous etc.
Saw the show...although I was in thick brain fog...
Att. General Blumenthal and a Doctor did a pretty good job discussing LD.
Blumenthal showed earnest compassion for the disease..The doctor was a little shakey when asked what the symptoms were..
Blumenthal said he is pushing hard to have insurance companys pay for needed IV therapy..so all that need it will be covered
He also focused on children with the disease. Also said that Lyme is up 37% in Conn. Noted that EVERYONE now KNOWS someone with LD.
Two major points came up...The commercial LABS are not required to report the positive cases, Thus no one can get accurate stats on what the heck is going on..AND the Commercial LABS are less than 50% accurate with the testing being done..
The only answer when asked what does one do if they have symptoms but test negative..was to keep getting tested..
Although confusion is ever present with testing, symptoms, doctors, and treatment...You get a fresh new sense that AWARENESS is developing..Blumenthal has undoubtly been affected by by the public cry for help. I am sure the LYME RALLY one of the major driving forces behind this show being aired.
