Ann, I can't speak for all of them, since I have emingrated across the line a couple of miles but Baltimore and surrounding counties got hit pretty badly as well as some on the shore.. The news showed some rescues and flooded cars and homes..Also some roads washed out..
There was a track that storms have kept following for a few days now..So the same areas are getting dumped on..I would think many do not have elec..We have been on the fringe of most of it and the storms have been wicked.
I do not know about individuals. But when you think of what some have gone thru and especially our gulf coast friends, it is minor in the grand scheme of things..

We be okay in Balto. Sump Pumps working overtime. Lit candles in each room for when the lights went out, made sure clocks had back up batteries, etc.
Had to wait up for two crazy teenagers who went out last night. They're fearless and foolhardy.
When another deluge came by this morning I just went outside and lifted my face to the clouds, and got soaked. I thought of the words to the song " I will Praise you is this storm".

Glad you posted this, Ann-OH. I was worried when the news from three states away came on the local news stating how much flooding there has been in Maryland.
Hope everyone is safe.
It looks like we are in this tropical pattern for the week.

I heard the roads are pretty full of water between Rising Sun and Hunt Valley MD.
There was a mud slide early closing the DC beltway, before rush hour.
My sump is working well. We've had 6" here. I live on a little hill so no standing water outside. I saw what Agnes did and won't live low.
We sailing on the Susquahanna, near York on the week-end and had no rain, it threatened, but we had good sailing! Go figure.

I just saw where Rt 13, near Seaford, De has a big section eaten away..
Hope it stays away from Ocean Highway..I have plans..
Mel, I think Rt 1 thru Harford Co is ok. Was on part of it late yesterday from Rising Sun over thru part of Harford Co..Actually was on a back road that oftens floods and it was still ok..
I am sure the dam will have a lot more locks open than the few that were open yesterday.
Go figure, the sun is out now..But a large blast is on the way if the radar is correct..

I was trying to find out how many gates were open but couldn't find the right link. Chris usually comes home over Conowingo, from AZ, he isn't used to this much rain!
372, west of Parkesburg is starting to flood.
I imagine there will be a lot of current Thursday in Havre de Grace, it is supposed to rain tomorrow too.
The sump is still working, I have a generator, with wheels, if need be.

Any optimism is diminished..Hurry with the ark..
It is non stop and in big waves..
Mel the spill hotline for the dam is 1-410-457=2525. However it says there will be spill conditions on Thurs with 3 gates open.. Think they need to update the blasted recording..I would think they must have more than that open now..
Advise Chris to not come via Port Deposit..That cow path is very low and floods frequently..
Good luck to all in Balto..Would think you are all floating by now..

Thanks Ann for the concern.
Yep... It sure is wet here on the Del-Mar-Va penninsula! I just measured the rain fall.. and the total now is at 9 3/4 inches... and it is still coming down! Not as bad as some of the spots near by... but I am beginning to feel kinda like a sponge.
If the lightning and thunder stop (it's on and off) I would LOVE to hit the local creek with the canoe! I was going to try it today.. but the water REALLY floods about 24 hours after the last of the rain.. so tomorrow may be better.
Hopefully I can get out and ENJOY it! Not much more fun than zipping.. and I mean FLYING through the deeply flooded woods.. ABOVE the trees... in the rushing waters!
Hey MADDOG.. Muffin head, Just Don, Mountana and Petunia.. time to go!
The pier outback is underwater now.. and our farm driveway .. well a boat would have better luck getting through here. Where it isn't completely underwater.. it is deep mud and muck!
A number of county roads are flooded and our little local bridges are underwater... but I have not headed out.. and I remain here on the second floor of the house.. so I should be fine!
The garden.. well.. hmmmmm... if the water gets any higher.. the tomatoes will be floating! We picked some yellow squash today because they were almost totally underwater.
All the guys I've seen have on their hunting boots and look a bit like drowned rats.
My little one called today. I believe he said he has 3 1/2 feet of water in his yard.

now you guys see why we don't have basements along the gulf coast...unless we could figure a way to boil the water in them to cook the crabs and shrimp.
but that would heat the house up.

Only 5 gates were open last night at Conowingo, the rain must be just east and south enough to miss it.
I did get out the 4x4 this morning and fill it with gas, ouch. I have to go down to Scout camp later and I worry that the creeks will be a bit high.
The news promised that we would have a break for 36 hours, it was pouring at the time and raining again when I got up this morning. We had 7" before dark last night.
Now the weather says it will stop raining Wednesday, maybe.

Mel, I would be careful around the scout camp..So many streams and they are all high..
Our basement never leaks..The worst we have had is a damp spot in one side, but that has changed with this crap..
I have a Millersville Univ tour at our local museum and I have to go down there with a sump pump first..
Now we will all have to worry about mold..

LMT-Maybe I could lift one of those inflated mallots they sell at the Fair.
Any crabs that wound up in my basement are pretty safe because I couldn't move fast enough to catch them anyway. Even if a crab crawled up and bit my big toe- I wouldn't be able to bend over to pull it off.
Rockfish sound good. Just have to figure out how to catch them. Wonder if the cat would be willing to go swimming?
My neighbors across the street were bailing water last night. I haven't even dared looked down in basement today-have to get my errands done first.

Miss Moon, You paint a very euphoric picture of rushing along with the currents, but please be careful on flooded waters because there can be hidden tree branch and other junk snags waiting for you. (Like you didn't know that.) Just be careful!

Free water..Unlimited supply. If any of you are having a drought, please send tankers to suck this crap up..Thanks..

Here it comes again. One side effect of these storms is that my doggies don't like to get wet. So you know what that means-lots of newspaper spread out on the back porch.
Which incidently has a FLAT roof-but we have positioned a couple of empty fish tanks under the worst of the leaks.
My poor daughter has stepped in so much doggie doodoo going out on porch to feed her guinea pigs she's running out of shoes.
Makes me wonder what they did on Noah's ARK ! Aren't we supposed to turn to the Bible for answers ? So where's the answer to this dilemma ? Maybe my animals will let me put POISE on them, too.
Anyway-sump pumps still running continuously. But we may be stranded as roads to the north and south are flooded.
Oh well, good exucse to go back to bed and take a nap.

Ann.. yes... the voice of reason. Thanks!
I was actually thinking about this post on and off last night and today. And I THINK I thought better of that canoe running idea.
The saying by Toby Keith kept running through my mind.
"I am not as good as I once was.. but I'm as good ONCE, as I ever was..."
Well... do I REALLY want to push my luck? As Clint Eastwood would say.. "Do you feel LUCKY?"
I think NOT.
Especially when the garden tomatoes out back are going past my kitchen window.. doing the back stroke!
And I have to laugh..
Tonight I looked out the window.. and VERY unusual.. I saw two deer coming up near the house. I've never seen them that close before, ever.
I looked out the other side of the house and in the yard there were two bunny rabbits (we call them all "Oswald" cause there are too many to name individually)... about 15 feet from the front door.
A few minutes later I happened to peer out the back window and I saw two of our late evening wrens at the bird feeder munching down their supper.
That's when it hit me... and I laughed!
They are gathering! Two of each type of animal .. and they are waiting to get on board the ark!
And yes.. I HAD to look. I went to the only side of the house I hadn't checked.. and figured if there were ANY two of a kind animals, side by side, near the house.. THAT'S IT!
But alas.. there was only "chubby".. the friendly ground hog... And a painted turtle I'd never met before!
So... no boat building party at THIS house tonight!
We are in that 8-12 inch zone of rain that has already fallen now.. and they expect 4-6 more inches to possibly fall tonight! But the tornado warnings were not right on top of our heads.. like our neighbors in other parts of the state!
posted
We're still under a flash flood warning tonight-nearby neighborhoods are being evacuated.3-6 more inches predicted overnight. I am not finding this funny anymore. I'm expecting a fire truck to drive by any minute with a bull horn telling us to get out, too.
That's my overreactive anxiety plucking my last nerve. OUr fish pond has overflowed but we have a net over it , so hopefully the fish will stay put.
Urban areas are having a hard time handling the run off-and we are definitely urban. But we will be sleeping-or NOT-on the second floor. Can't wait til morning.
posted
Well, it's official. Water has overwhelmed the sump pumps-water coming into the basement. This really sucks.
But I'm not leaving. As I said- I can only deal with so much reality at a time. I'm going up to the second floor with the rest of the family and taking one of my sleeping pills.
posted
First thing I heard this morning were the birds singing.
First thing I saw this morning was the SUNSHINE.
First thing I DID NOT smell was gas-good thing- means basement water did not get deep enough to flood out gas lines.
So now I am ready to get the heck out of Dodge. I'll deal with the mold and silt later.
Carol " I know why the caged bird sings-on it's darkest day it believes in Spring" must remember that

Yes, the sun is trying to come out! It did yesterday too briefly, but then it rained again!
I made it down to Scout camp, one camp had the pump relay out for a while, but it was fixed by the time I got there. The other camp is a mess, no power for a while and a mudslide into the pool!
The staff was glad to see extra help for the evening. The kids had a great time tie-dieing socks and tee shirts! I came home to a dry bed!

Last night I saw some minor mud slides near Bel Air..Some pooling water in places that I have not seen in a long time, but the roads were ok.
I am sure it is deep in places in low ground, especially some counties on the shore.. It should be interesting in places near here when the Susquehanna crests in a day or so..
Most here have water in basements or garages.
The streams from our hills are causing havoc in the low areas where they converge..
Spring heads from our quarries are the issue in our community..
Tin, if you need rescued...I can put a little motor on the raft on my way past..
And do be careful all of the mold issues..

Turn around.. don't drown!
80% of people who die in floods lose their life in a car. PLEASE DON'T go into standing or running water!
We had another 3 1/8 inches of rain last night... but so far.. it hasn't rained today.
Cb and LM2- Forget the flooding and water and go to the beach. I am sure it will be a nice change... except for that little thing they call the ocean!
I TRY to look at the good side of things.. ya know. But how would this float YOUR boat?
ONE day a month I am awakened at 6:45 AM to the sound of a big truck backing up outside my bedroom window. HOW ANNOYING!!!!!!
This morning.. after only 3 hours sleep.. the big truck showed up at the house.
Not ONLY did the big truck wake me up AGAIN... and completely tear up the dirt road all the way in and out of the farm... and threw the mud and dirt from the road bed all over everything.. making BIG potholes and an ugly mess..
They came here through flooded roads, ditches and muck.. after 12 or more inches of flooding rain had fallen...

Well, aside from the water in the basement (about an inch) and the roof falling in, we seem to have fared okay.
We're in a bit of an elevated area, but I had to cancel business appointments today, because I couldn't drive anywhere. All the main roads into the city are closed, and the secondary ones are completely jammed.
During a break in the rain yesterday, I was able to get a ladder out and get up onto the roof to clear away some standing water and clean out some of the clogged gutters.
My Lyme vertigo gave me pause, but I decided I just needed to get this done. I'm glad I was able to push through it.
And glad everyone else seems to be safe.

Kelly, I missed some of this..I had an appointment with sun and surf..Sorry...
But you can have all that you want..Just bring in some tanker trucks..I can hook you up with the water..
It has receeded many places but our streets have a lot of water due to the spring heads, overflowing and now coming down the hills and into and thru many basements..
Tin, I have a shovel and garden rake..If you need help, just call..
Carol, I know where you can get some crabs if your crab pot of a basement doesn't catch enough for a meal.
The next few days have the possibility of thunder showers..You guys out west can have them too..Not sure how to package them for you.. Who was that character that used to lasso them??

Don't know who the Lasso dude is, but maybe we could all huff and puff here on the East coast to blow those rain clouds Westward.
Better yet, I bet the back of Tincup's TinCan RustBucket is full of water. Maybe if we pointed her in the right direction she would come to the rescue. But the way she drives I bet all the water would slosh out or evaporate by the time she got there because she forgot where she was going.
At least you know why you have burning feet-thank goodness it's not related to Lyme Disease.

Guess what it is doing in Baltimore?????
I was out to a meeting this evening and had to drive through several flooded intersections. One section of road was flooded so bad three cars were stalled.
I don't condone tailgaiting but I sure rode the bumper of the car in front of me because they were like GOD parting the Red Sea.
Obviously I got home safely.
How are the fires out in Arizona? Any burning bushes?
