Keep in mind that you will need to be careful of yeast for quite some time yet. Don't decide to eat whatever you like since you're off abx.
I found that out the hard way....
Keep us posted on how you're doing off abx!
Onward, forward!!

Avoid sugars, breads, fruit juices, and pastas for awhile.
These will help your body clear out the crappies and keep your symptoms at bay.
I pray you are better...dare I say cured? Can we ever be cured?
Hopefully one day....
Congratulations.
Not to rain on your parade, but after 14 years I have seen many remissions and relapses. The good news is the relapses are fewer and farther between and less intense than previous ones. You may have to have some regimen for the rest of your life, but don't let that get you down. Keep fighting. Not to squash your hopes, just being realistic. OK I'll go away now.

I have been off since June 2004, after 5 years of abx therapy! Watch the stress. I am doing very well, but find in times of stress, symptoms do act up. It does not scare me to much anymore.
Hang onto your supplements, you will need them for a long time. I still continue to take those extras to keep me on the "straight and narrow"!
Will we ever be cured? Probably not, but we can call it remission!
Remission gives us permission to live and enjoy life again!
Enjoy life, live well and love often!
Congratulatons!

thanks for the kind words. i know i'm not "home free" (what ever that means), however, if i can stay off of the atx and not feel (mentally) like I'm so sick, it will be a real plus for me. Just to not worry about taking meds with meals and sitting up after the last dose, even if it's ten o'clock, is a blessing.
still have anti-depressants, anti-anxiety(non addictive - buspar), thyroid, cholestoral, acid reflux to deal with. the latter, hopefully, will lessen without the atx.
food is a struggle. always has been. need to get straight with that and also to EXERCISE (i know, the e word!)
tired, pushed too much this week....thank goodness i have half a day today and then don't have to be back here until wednesday!!
the stress level has been a real issue at work, but i think i had a sort of breakthrough about it. wanna know what? if i don't choose to let things roll off my back, i'll be on my back! the doctor and talked about meditation which i taught at one time, and do now in a very uninspired way. time to get serious about meditation again!
i don't know what number to apply to my wellness - nowhere near 100, maybe a range btw 75-90, depending on what we are talking about - brain, tiredness, a little achy at times.
right now it's time to go back to work...
