I have an idea. Part of what Dr. Jemsek is being held guilty of is the fact that he didn't inform every one of his patients that there are two standards of care.
(This happens with other diseases. Like in prostate cancer, where there are FIVE treatment protocols, which you can read about HERE . )
I think every North Carolinian who has ever been undertreated for Lyme should be writing the medical board to report that doctor for failing to inform. The letter should report the doctor, the date of the appointment, the repercussions to you of NOT being treated adequately, and the fact that there are TWO standards of care published in peer review.
Let the board scramble to explain why all those IDSA doctors have a habit of not fully informing their patients of the ILADS protocol.
Regards, Shaz

Now you're talking. In fact-when I first was diagnosed here in Maryland, my GP never informed me there were two protocols-so when he prescribed two weeks Antibiotics-which I saw him look up right in front of me in his handy dandy IDSA guide I didn't question the treatment because I didn't know there was a choice.
But two years later, just before I jumped off a cliff, my LLMD had me sign a consent form presenting two protocols for Lyme. Hmmm
BTW my girls are returning Sat(tomorrow) from a week long mission/camping trip in the mountains of North Carolina . Do they have ticks in the Smokey Mountains?

Sure do. Make sure you check your girls. There are plenty of ticks with tick-borne diseases here in NC.

CarolB- Yes, I agree. Check them!! My daughter got Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever last year from a tick. I'm in NC, but not in the mountains. I'm near Charlotte, NC.
Shazdancer- What a clever idea! I just might try that!

Hey guys I actually live in SC but have been a patient of Dr. J's for 2 and a half years now. I finally rearranged my schedule to do IV treatment and not work for the 28 days BCBS will pay for hoping that I can get some relief from some opf my symptoms. I just received a call from Dr. J's office that BCBS has pulled out and will not cover any of my treatment anymore. I just got picc put in last week and now I have to pay for everything even the meds I will not use because I will have to have the line pulled because I can't pay upfront for the treatment. I am so upset I will help do anytrhing that will help. I did write a letter for the attorney and sign the petition before the trial. What else can we do??
