Hello. I have recently 'discovered' Lyme as I looked up the picture of the rash for someone else and recognized it one I had last summer.
I hate doctors and it cleared up so I blew it off. About a month later I got sick and have not been well since. Was diagnosed with asthmatic bronchitis, which was a surprise because I never knew I was asthmatic. Was then diagnosed suddenly with severe allergies and Asthma. Treatment for that has improved some things. But overall I feel I have aged 20 years in just one year.
I blew off a lot of things thinking I was just getting lazy, needed to lose weight, stress etc. I went in for the blood work on Friday so don't know if it showing up on tests.
Anyway looking for good place to do research, good links etc. I have been reading but a lot of things sound like a foreign language yet.
Also anyone know of any good doctors in the Quad Cities area in Illinois. If not I am less than an hour from Iowa City University Hospitals, wondering how they are.

Hey Snap, if you had a bullseye rash, you have lyme. Along with all the other symptoms it's pretty much a lock. No Doc's around the Quad Cities will know anything about this disease. Post in the "Seeking a Doctor" section of the forum and someone will send you a Private Message with doc info. We don't post it publicly.
Keep reading this board, you'll learn ton's.

Also your best bet is to post in the "Seeking a Doctor" section of the forum to find a Lyme Literate Doctor in your area. Post the area you're looking for in the title and someone will get back to you with suggestions in your area.
Good luck, I hope that helps somewhat since I couldn't really answer much else.

fyi, Iowa does NOT have any full-time CHRONIC LYME LITERATE MDs in the entire state. So that leaves out Iowa City who believes in the "Steere" method where you can be treated for 1 month and be cured!
You can learn about the 2 camps in Treepatrol's NEWBIE LINKS referred to you from above. I also sent you my newbie links by PM, private message.
Hope you can get an appt. set up in near future; many are booked months in advance. My Minn. one as of 7-3 was booked until end of OCT. Bettyg

No way Blue ! I'm the worst. I've seen clock hands that are more skilled than mine at typing. It's like I'm playing chopsticks. Posts: 1632 | From Northern Wisconsin | Registered: Jan 2005
