Hey Guys,

I thought I'd stop by and jot down a few things. lol

[bonk]

What would I say if I were to tell someone what the TOP FIVE things were to do when I am diagnosed/suspect Lyme.

1) Focus on getting yourself to a LLMD...no matter what..this is number one.

2) Detox the body by removing ALL chemical influence from your life....cleaners, charcoal,
softeners, hairspray, deodorants, etc
(Get a water filter)

3) Remove ALL negative influences on your life...especially those that fight you on your diagnosis....just move on...without them, no matter WHO they are.

4) Attempt to control the inflammatory response that your body is using.

5) Educate, educate, educate....both yourself and others.

The MOST important...underlying factor in all of these...which probably deserves its OWN entry is:

FOCUS! [Big Grin]

Good Luck and God Bless,

Trout [Wink]

Sounds like sound advice to me! I think maybe this should be over in Medical...where all the newbies are.

Maybe ask treepatrol to add it to his newbie links??

I left you a message in the "checking in" thread!

Trout, thanks for checking in.

GREAT ADVISE; short & to the point!

Did you or Kathy Cuddeback contact the other Iowa support groups and ask that they update their info on there per TINCUPS request? Haven't heard from Kathy. Thanks Kent.

Hi Trout.
How are you doing?

Racing to do all those things to de-toxifiy yourself might not be so great when you are trying to decide if the meds you are taking are doing the job.

Maybe removing stuff you know are bad for anyone from your environment is the first step.

The ingesting stuff to de-toxify should be done with the doctor's knowledge and approval.

Not sure what you meant here.

4) Attempt to control the inflammatory response that your body is using.[unquote]

Somewhere in there should be:

"Get enough rest."

Thanks Ladies,

Ann-Oh..getting the rest IS important.

The two things that Lyme Disease causes is cascading inflammation from your immune system constantly trying to attack the spirochetes and the neuro-toxins put out from these nasty boogers.
(this is from the two LLMD's that I have consulted personally, let alone the others that say so on their websites, etc)

Toxin Removal
I do have one question for you...who said anything pertaining to internal digestion of anything that would detox the body? I certainly didn't. [Wink]

I said to remove charcoal from your life...never did I mention ingesting "activated charcoal" for removal of toxins" .

I said remove the things from your life/environment that are toxic.
Sheesh. [confused]

By removing toxic things from your environment you're reducing the load that your body has to put up with.

Charcoal that is used for grilling food contains several contaminants that get onto/into the foods cooked by them...we then ingest those toxins and many people are now becoming aware of the chemicals that are ADDED to the charcoal...such as fire retardants to allow for longer burning.

I shouldn't be offended by your remarks...but-I haven't posted on here for a long time...why? Because evrybody reads more into what you are saying--literally....when it is right in front of them.

Reducing Inflammation-
Now how does one control chronic inflammation?
You can use COX-2 inhibiting drugs..which scrw up your body...or...
Dr Scott Taylor,DVM and fellow Lymie has his suggestions; www.myremedi.com ie: Diet and Lyprinol, which comes from the green muscles off of the New Zealand coast

Other suggested ways are using;
Boswellia....very good at it
Enzyme Formula's....Infla-Zyme comes to mind
Mangosteen (Whole Fruit Puree, only)
High Doses of Vitamin C may also help

You guys chase off more good people than is necessary. How? By over correcting people.

My God...why do you do that?

Good Bye...again...for a very long time...my life is improving...without all the crap on this darn site.

Whoa, Trout! I wasn't upset with you or trying to put you down. I really am sorry.

I guess I misread what you meant by "de-toxify your body." My scrambled brain. No bad intent. I thought you meant more than removing bad things from your environment.

I guess I know so many people who take so many supplements and things along with their meds that they really don't know what works and what doesn't and neither does the doc.

Everything else was right on the money in your list. I especially loved "Educate, educate, educate" and "Focus."

Thank you for explaining what you meant by attempting to control the inflammatory response your body is using.

You said "You guys chase off more good people than is necessary. How? By over correcting people."

I think I was the only one at fault here, and I think I and many more people have missed you and hope you are doing well.

I am glad to hear your life is improving and I hope you will continue to post here.

I promise never to comment on anything you say again, unless it is to wish you the best, as I do now.

Good to see you posting again Trout. I have been thinking of you and wondering how you are doing.

I would like to see more suggestions from others on the topic.

Now, what was the topic?

It seemed there was something about focusing. [Smile]

Gosh darn....I just wanted to get in a boat and sail away when I first came down with this.

Come to think of it, I still visualize in my minds eye of sailing the seas and being healthy and wealthy.

I sure appreciated your help when I first came down with this and didn't know where to start.

Ann-Oh,

Apology accepted...I'm sorry...I am just SO edgy on here...due to all of the back stabbing that used to go on.

Heck...you know that there WAS a time when people made you write a book on a ONE paragraph...lest they tear your opinion/suggestion apart.

That IS quite frankly...the reason I left this place..so negative...so very, very negative.

You...my dear may comment..I just...well...bad memories. (I thought it was starting all over again.)

KAM....

New Name?

Wuz Up?

Once again....Ann...your kind reply changed my day.

God Bless Ya...
