I had a huge breakthrough in July, a complete physical turnaround, and enrolled in school full-time for the first time in several years.(I'm finally a senior, btw.) Everything went very well the first weeks, I'm involved in the musical and everything.
Some of my homework was late, and some test scores weren't perfect, but that's understandable since i'm only recently up and out of bed ! Just so happy to be with people, you know, making a lot of friends in my new grade and such.
But last friday I started going downhill. It felt like I was herxing really bad, even though I'm only on oral zith/ tindamax and I thought my Lyme was gone. I missed friday, and I stayed home today for the same reason, and even had to go to my treatment center for antioxidants through a butterfly needle, since my PICC line is out.
I'm just scared, you know, because all my pain is back, I mean, it never went away, but it's like really back now! All my joints feel broken, my headache is so much worse, and my muscles are seriously in rebellion, especially on my back.
And I'm supposed to be well ! I mean, I knew tanking was a possibility, but I didn't think it would actually happen. And now I have so much responsibility, and most of my teachers don't understand my situation, since the days I've been to school I've been very happy, talkative and generally healthy . And my old friends are all in college now, so my bonds with my new gang are still forming, and I don't want them to think I just flake out when there's a test, or whatever, because people talk, you know.
And I'm supposed to be better ..My mom's been great and supportive but it still makes me sad..and I don't want her to worry about me anymore, bc she's already been through so many trials.
Anyway, I'm going to stop whining now, but you guys are so supportive, I just had to throw my newest sob story out there. God knows how many I've had over the past few years..
Boohoo poor me
Emily

What just happened??! [confused]

Em,

I'm sorry to hear what happened.

We thought my Lyme was gone too, but it came back with a vengeance. I discovered that my autonomic nervous system is out of balance. It's from the years of being sick.

My doctor is treating that with amino acids and B vitamins. It seems to be helping me feel better.

I love your screen name.

I really hate to hear that you are having this flare of symptoms at the WRONG time.

You know, the beginning of the school year is super stressful, especially if you have been out of the swim for a while.

Are you taking a full load of classes?

Em, I think stress is a major player in the wellness or remission from lyme..Perhaps you pushed yourself too much..

Even thought you see time slipping away, you need to recover and it may be slower than you hope.

YOu may need to wade before you take the full swim back into full day school.. Try to talk to guidance now to see if you can perhaps reduce your load..

And see if you can get a 504 plan or an IEP started now to help cover some of the work you may not be able to do..

And my daughter is always sick but is much worse before and on the full moon..So the time frame that you got worse was then..I think many with lyme cycle and many also have problems on the full moon..

Good luck..This is a struggle and I am sure your mom loves you..If she is like me, she would give body parts away to get you well.. hugs..lymemomtooo
