I would think by now that many of you have seen this horrific news..All of the school tragedies have been horrible..
I live approx an hour away and was thinking..How many of these sick killers might have tick borne diseases.. Our county and Chester Co are both epidemic, then certainly Lancaster, the county in between must also have many sick and undiagnosed.
I am not trying to take away any of the blame from the killer but there have been a few times here when if guns were around, some of us would not be here due to lyme or bart rages or herxes from Hell or whatever it is.
So the wheels were turning and I wondered if any of the advocates on here might pen a brief note to some of the authorities or even the press to suggest that this could be caused from someone with TBD and those infected with psych manifestations are like ticking time bombs..
Even if he had unresolved issues from 20 years ago, if he had a new infection(TBD) it could have pushed him over the edge.
Not so much that I want to take advantage of this tragedy, but to get the message out to forwarn some.
I plan to send a note or email to suggest this but am up to my ears with putting on a festival so will not get to it until next week..
Just wondering if any others think this might be an ok idea. lymemomtooo

Your mailbox is full my dear.
Shooter having psychiatric lyme makes sense to me.
Do you happen to have any info that would help me send some written condolances?
Perhaps name and addresses of hospitals or their church...I know you are busy. Anyone? You could pm if you think it shouldn't be posted..
Times like this I am grateful my kids are homeschooling.

You could be right. Lancaster county is in such denial about lyme.
I'm only minutes away and visited my Amish friend this morning to give her an update.

Wow, i never thought about TBD being a cause.
I dont live to far from there either and have been following it closely.
PA is such a bad state to have lyme(not that all arent) but it seems there is such denial here and it is such an endemic area.

I do not have the addresses..It might be Georgetown, PA..Just not sure where the closest main post office is located..Not sure if Bart has a post office or not..Or Nickel Mine..
WGAL TV, Channel 8 most likely can ge googled and would have the most up to date info..It is the main TV Channel for us and Lancaster Co.
Char, sorry will do some house cleaning..
And you know if there are killers due to lyme rages, don't you think it would make someone wake up and get on board to stop it..Just my ramblings..Sorry..

You may be right, but don't even bother to try to suggest that Lyme might be the cause of depression and intrusive thoughts that led to this man's actions.
Don't bother writing, because they're not going to listen.

i agree with carol.
we have enough to fight, without people believing we are jumping on every bandwagon we can. I KNOW that my own family in that part of the world would think I was completely insane (an not due to lyme)to even suggest anything but that this man was the devil.
It will bring polarization instead of unity i think.

*Nickel Mines School Victims Fund Hometowne Heritage Bank 100 Historic Drive PO Box 337 Strasburg, PA 17579
P.S. - our hearts are torn here in PA....Our family drives this route to see our lyme doc, and we do pass several of these schools including this one in Nickel Mines.

Griff, I think we all agree that he was a very sick individual and I do not think lyme alone could do this..But with so many horrific tragedies like this, I just ponder if TBD's could also be a part of the picture.
If you visited here for a few days, you might change your mind if you could see how these disease have damaged my daughter's thought processes and the rages that are generated..
She wants to die 24/7 and often wants me to die..And there have been a few times if she would have had a gun, I would be gone..She can't reason and blames others for everything..
Pre-lyme she was the most fun loving, compassionate child that you would ever meet.
So I am NOT trying to lessen this killer's blame, and while I wish it had never happened, I am glad the state will not have to spend any money on a trial. But...I just think TBDs should be considered in some of these situations.
I am not attempting to anger..Just to have people think about the possibility. lymemomtooo

Well I heard that Blue Cross/Blue Shield is putting up a half million dollar fund for the Amish families for treatment and transportation.

Before lyme, I lived in Chester County and did all of my shopping in Lancaster since it was only 20 minutes away. Such a terrible tragedy. My heart goes out to the amish families.
