My family seems very sceptical when I tell them I think I have lyme. Even when I show them a checkslist of over 20 symptoms. It's very annoying. Anyone relate?

KL -

I think almost every one here can relate to that to some extent.

Fortunately for me, my husband, my mom, and *maybe* my dad believe my diagnosis.

My brothers, and some in-laws, on the other hand just think I need to adopt a more positive attitude. I pretty much told them to shove it. [Big Grin] Also I suggested they remove the log from their eyes, before pointing out my supposed specks of dirt.

And don't even get me started on cousins....we have a few doctors, and a couple of nurses in the family; oh joyous day. I pretty much just avoid them now. I don't need additional crap.

The important thing, KL, is to find a support system. Identify those that believe you and are wiling to support you on this healing journey. They don't have to be family. Everyone else just needs to mind their own business.

I hope you can find someone to support you soon.

Hugs & [kiss]

KL, yes, we ALL go thru this.

NEGATIVE people and UNSUPPORTIVE folks bring you down, AVOID THEM at all costs. You need to take care of you!

I have 3 brothers and I've not gone to the last 2 xmas of us siblings; I just don't need it. Be nice to Betty one afternoon a year.

Otherwise, I'm allergic to chemicals: cigarette smoke on their clothing, perfume, aftershave, etc. and food allergies:

gluten ... wheat/rye
casein --- cow's milk, cheeses, egg whites, and garlic plus being a diabetic.

I don't need that either so it's best for me to avoid them!

You should have received my 18 pages of newbie links/advise. Go to TREEPATROL'S NEWBIE LINKS thread in medical.

Look thru there for 2 things:
SPOON THEORY and BUT YOU DON'T LOOK SICK!

forward them to those NOT believing you.

You could do a search in medical and general; many lengthy discussion on this from past!

If you didn't get my newbie's links/advise, click on 2 people standing together, PM, private message, and send to me asking for me to send to you. I miss a few folks on occasion.
good luck! Bettyg [Big Grin]

Very common with Lyme patients. Many of us "look great" even when we feel like C***!
