BADA-UK (Borreliosis and Associated Diseases Awareness-UK) is urgently looking for someone from the Berkshire area who would be willing to be interviewed about their experiences with Lyme/Borreliosis.
I'm hoping that between the Lyme groups someone will come forward to be interviewed. Finger's crossed.
Unfortunately there are no transcripts for the BBC Southern Counties item on Lyme this morning, and they don't have a listen again facility, but I do know that one kind Lymie did record the item and you can hear it on his youtube channel:
It's mostly general information about ticks and the diseases they carry. Awareness in the UK is much less than in the US, but thankfully it is getting better with more media coverage. This year has been the best for coverage that I have ever known.
Thanks for your message Cave, I'm afraid a rarely get to use the boards these days. I was doing a lot better until the beginning of the year when I was rushed to hospital with another encephalopathy which caused me to lose all the sight in my left eye and most of what was left in my right eye. I now use a narration programme to be able to use the computer and it isn't compatible with a lot of boards, especially ones that use flash. So, it's a flying visit this time.
Unfortunately, my cardiac problems have also worsened so I've had to have several heart operations, but, on the up side, I don't suffer so much from brain fog, and I work many hours a day to help raise awareness of tick-borne diseases, which I could never have done a couple of years ago.
Hope you are doing OK yourself?

I just finished listening to it and you certainly packed a lot of information into time allotted.
Believe me, I was exhausted! I only had my last heart operation last week. I hate doing live programmes because you never know what they are going to ask you, or how long you can stay on a subject. So my motto is `pack it all in while you get the chance'!

I've always had a soft voice, but I have a son at collage, so I'm unfortunately not that youthful - sigh!

Thanks Cave, that means a lot - truly.

No - they didn't have the decency to offer a proper response to the petition. The official reply was dated over a week previous to the petition delivery. It was all pre-contrived in the time I was corresponding with them to arrange the visit. I gave up on that route. If you want a job doing properly, do it yourself!
I put all my efforts into the charity now.
It's good to hear that you are doing OK. I know what you mean about saying it though. I'll pretend that you whispered it. Posts: 57 | From England | Registered: Jan 2004
