Hi everyone! I've been away- no computer access.

My roof caught fire at 3am a couple of weeks ago, and I've been living elsewhere until the house is fixed.

We all survived. It was like a movie.

In the meantime, I tested positive for Bart too!!! I suspected I had bart, especially when I took levaquin and started walking within 1 week.

I also have babesia, m.pneumoniae. I'm taking Cipro for bart.

I'm not seeing any better. It's been 10 days.
Maybe cipro isn't strong enough?
Instead, I need a power chair...

SAK, so sorry to read of your house fire, but thankfully EVERYONE SURVIVED! The good news...

Glad you found out what illnesses you have so you can work on them now. Best wishes on the flood of emotions and loss of personal items you have recently encountered.

Sak,

I'm sorry about the fire. Years ago, I went through a fire (the condo attached to mine burned but my unit got lots of smoke).

I had to have the air ducts in my unit professionally cleaned twice to get the stuff out - and this was pre-Lyme. So you might want to ask your insurance if they will pay for that, as well as professional cleaning of furniture or whatever might have absorbed smoke.

Take care - I'm struggling with Bart, too. Not on any meds for it right now but really need to be.

you really bring new meaning to the saying from the frying pan into the fire! [Big Grin]

I am glad to see your spirits up after such devastation!

I have been taking cipro for 3 months partially for bart. (partially for nonlyme reasons too) I saw some improvement on it at first but then all my symptoms came sliding back in slowly. I have added rifampin to the cipro, but they cant be taken together for long. so I will take both for 10 days then go to the rifampin alone.

If you did well with levaquin, why not use it for your treatment?

Thank you everyone!

I did well with levaquin at first; until the 3rd week. I had severe stomach pain. My body won't tolerate it now. I hope cipro will do something.

Yes, the fire started on the roof because the roofer messed up. The whole house is demolished.

It will take several months for the entire house to be re-built.

you can tell you're a survivor because you state your whole house is demolished with such calm it can only mean one thing.....you've been through so much, a "little" problem of demolished house ...doesn't even phase you.

i hope you have somewhere decent to stay while they fix things up for you.
