Hi Everyone,
Just wanted to hop on here and let you all know I'm safely home from my 10 day trip to Oregon to visit my sister. I had very few problems with security in the airports but the way back I had some problems with bringing a sharps container through (I'm on IV hydration and antibiotics) but that was because they just saw a container on the x-ray and once they rifled through my backpack and found it and saw it was indeed a sharps container it was fine.
My trip was great - relaxing, restful (to an extent), and I had a wonderful time visiting my sister and brother-in-law and enjoying the beautiful city they live in (Eugene, OR). The weather was amazing while I was there - no more than a few minutes of sprinkling rain the whole time I was there. It was beautifully sunny everyday and the temperature was in the 70s and even up to 80 one day! I really lucked out since the weather at this time of year is usually more on the rainy side (the beginning of their rainy season). I guess I brought the sunshine with me!!
Here are a few pictures from my trip:
Some of the fall foliage (not as good as New England but still pretty darn pretty).
A beautiful sunset when I was at the airport waiting for my flight home.
A vineyard I visited with my sister - really pretty (the picture doesn't really show how beautiful it is).
And me by the Willamette River - really pretty.
Health-wise I'm doing so-so. Not great but not horribly. My stomach isn't great because I did too much "real" eating while I was away and now I'm trying to get my stomach back on track by taking it easy and doing a few days of mostly liquids (I have gastroparesis). Unfortunately because of insurance stuff I'm going to be off the IV antibiotics for a few weeks which is good and bad - I get to have a more normal sleep schedule since I don't have to do the 3-time-a-day infusions but being off the antibiotics could make it harder to tolerate them when I go back on and being off them always runs the risk of it not being as helpful when I go back on (and of course I could get worse while off). But I see my LLMD on Thursday and he has to write a letter to my insurance company then and hopefully that will all get done quickly to minimize my off-antibiotic time.
Right now I'm mostly resting, trying to catch up on my school work (not a whole lot to catch up on but I have class this afternoon and haven't done the reading - ugh, better get to that soon!), and trying to reset my internal clock after being on pacific time and flying back on a red-eye which just messes me up even more. I'm sad to be home and happy to be home but my bed is very comfy and I have all the comforts of home again so that's good. I just realized that my right ear is still plugged up from my flights on Saturday morning! I hope it unplugs soon!
I hope you're all having a good beginning of the week! Sending lots of good energy out to you all!
