Hi all,

I would appreciate input on treatments and how long before some of you were feeling better?

I have been on antibiotics for 6 to 7 mos consistently. My doc has switched them up here and there. In the beginning I felt really good for about 3 weeks.

Then lousy for a few, etc. I have not been feeling well now since beginning of October. Though I suspect EBV is active.

How long before the immune system starts fighting again? I have no immune system at this point.

This is so frustrating. ANY input greatly appreciated.

Thanks
karenb

Karen,

Are you using any alternative therapies in conjunction with the abx?

I discovered after two years that your immune system won't rebuild itself on its own. Abx may kill bacteria, but it doesn't fix the immune system.

I'm taking amino acids, based on my own deficiencies, and high volumes of vitamins/minerals to rebuild my system. After a few months I already started feeling the difference. I still have a ways to go though.

Betty, Maybe the key is that you were taken OFF abx, not that you were put ON supplements. Just a thought. [oops...or did i read that wrong....you're on abx now or not??]

Karen...It took a full year for me to feel ANY better at all. And another year after that before I thought there was really light at the end of the tunnel.

Now 6 yrs later, I have my life back!!

Karen, I agree that anything you can do to help your immune system is going to be a plus. Also make sure you don't have yeast causing you trouble. You'll have a VERY hard time getting well if that's an issue.

Good luck with your appointment. Let us know if we can help in any way. [group hug]
